You mean 'not backward compatible'.

Right, misspoke. Essentially OP you can't open .mx8s in any version of mixcraft 1-7.

Re: mixcraft 8 compadablity to mixcraft 7

He could always download v7 from here. http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/suppo ... rsions.htm

It'll be in demo form but he can always open up the projects in his licensed 8 copy to export any files past the expiration.

I agree, I liked the note thickness in Mixcraft 7, they seem so wispy now, one of the few things I dislike about the newer version

Re: Laptop suggestions for using Mixcraft

Another category to look at for laptops would be those aimed at graphic designers. Typically similar specs to a gaming laptop but they don't look hideous.

Re: New MIDI Note Clobbering

Hi, Yeah, I noticed the difference but didn't know if it was intentional and i liked it so i didn't speak up hoping it would just go under the radar if it wasn't. It's great though, I really appreciate it In MX7 if you drag a smaller note over a larger note then the larger note is subdivided but the...

Re: OT Effect for megaphone like vocal

I imagine it can probably be accomplished using some filters/EQ and then applying the right distortion/saturation

Re: Build 378 patches are on the beta page

I still think a soft solo (old logic) and a hard solo (new logic) is the best solution. I actually like that I can solo just 1 instrument in a submix and see how it sounds within the context of an entire track, but at the same time would like the ability to easily solo 1 instrument entirely without ...

Re: Build 378 patches are on the beta page

Mark i literally described the idea of a 'hard solo' to my friend exactly as that. maybe ctrl-left click would also solo the submix parent. The biggest problem is that if you have say 2 items soloed in the submix unsoloing 1 automatically unsolos the parent. this means you either have to resolo the ...

Re: More keys for virtual instruments.

Mark, I think they want to use that style of keyboard (i.e. 3 octaves) as the virtual onscreen keyboard. This isn't really a great idea because it doesn't allow for accidentals/chromatic scales

Also, recording without recording? I too am lost on that

Re: Build 378 patches are on the beta page

The submix solo logic is very odd. After seeing this in action I think that there probably isn't a feasible form of this idea that can be used. it's nice in theory, but in practice with many instruments under a submix it starts to get peculiar when soloing between them as well as the parent submix. ...

Re: MC 8 Submix Solo Bug

I think the current way the solo works makes a lot of sense. (even with just 1 submix in play). That being said. with the addition of nested submixes it kind of starts to fall a part a little so maybe an option that does automatically mute instruments outside the submix and within the parent submix ...
