Re: Cakewalk Sonar Goes Belly Up

I'm fairly certain the first version I used was a DOS application as well! Probably on that same 5 1/4" floppy disk. I had a MIDI adapter for my new Sound Blaster card and was able to plug a Yamaha PSR-500 keyboard into the computer and control it. That was a remarkable moment for me that had a...

Re: Cakewalk Sonar Goes Belly Up

This is sad news. Cakewalk has been around since I first started playing with synthesizers and MIDI. It's improved greatly over the years as DAW technology has evolved, and it was the DAW of choice for thousands and thousands of musicians. It's a loss for our community. Thanks for posting the news. ...

Thanks for the heads-up on this, it's fixed for the next release of Mixcraft 8.

Re: MIDI Clock out to Novation Impulse causing Mixcraft to freeze

Hello Anorax,

We will have a new Beta available, possible on Friday, that may contain a fix for this unusual issue you're having with your Impulse. Have you gotten it working again? It would be great if you could test the fix to help ensure that we solved the problem.

Thanks!

Re: 2 midi controler

Actually, you don't even have to go that far. You can simply arm one track to respond to one MIDI controller, and another track to respond to another MIDI controller, via the ARM dropdown. They can both transmit on the same MIDI channel, it doesn't matter.

Re: Mixcraft synth goes out of pitch

That seems very odd. Would you be able to attach a small MX8 project file showing this happening?

Re: Mixcraft hitting very apparent limits

Hi, If the software is actually crashing, complete with an error message, then your log file will help us determine what is causing the crash. Mixcraft won't *crash* just because you have a large project, unless it runs out of memory. It's possible you're using a poorly-coded plug-in that's causing ...

Re: Stereo vs 2x mono track

Hi there, You're asking a good question, so it's important to understand the difference between panning and balance. What you're expecting is a balance control, which you might use on a stereo system to hear the right channel and not the left channel. But Mixcraft's pan control will indeed mix both ...

Re: Does Mixcraft automatically change the key of your loops?

Mixcraft will change the key of any melodic loop that's been processed with Acid data, Garage Band data, or Mixcraft's own loop format. Non-melodic loops - e.g. most Drum loops - do not change key because that wouldn't be desirable. If you're creating your own loops or importing audio files that don...

Re: copy and paste

Hello,

Every clip has a plus (+) button in the upper-left. Pressing this button will extend the sound out for another loop.

Hope that helps!

Re: Mixcraft 7 - Xpand!2 not working for midi tracks

Chances are that your MIDI keyboard is set to a MIDI channel other than Channel 1. Set your keyboard to MIDI Channel 1 and you'll probably have no problem controlling Xpand!2.

Re: 32-bit Floating Point

Eh? So how come I can record in 24 bit and master down to 16 bit? Have not the 24 bit recorded wavs been rendered down to one 16 bit wav by MC's converters? The bit depth conversion is done in software, using Mixcraft's algorithms. Your audio hardware is not used in any way during mixdown. Also, ou...
