Re: Thats it i am done, I am sorry, its been a good run folks.

I used Mixcraft Pro studio for around 10 or so years and it was wonderful BUT now that i am recording real acoustic drums it has problems keeping up when the project gets a lot of tracks and effects... I have projects with over 100 tracks and 300 plugins, and they all include acoustic drums. MC run...

How can I force it to recognize the rest on the first beat so I get a loop with 4/4 measure where the snare hits on beats 2 and 4?

Thanks!

Drag the left edge of the new clip a quarter beat.

Re: Vocal harmony plug in

Mixcraft comes with Melodyne. As I understand it that is what the big boys use to generate harmonies. I use it for harmonies often - it not only shifts the pitch but attenuates the formant. In solo it's a bit ropey but in the mix it's pretty convincing.

Re: Best method for CONSISTENT chorus timings?

Couldn't you just quantize or autowarp? But if you're talking about the chorus effect, automate. M I should’ve mentioned that I’m not talking about a chorus plugin, but instead I’d like the chorus vocals as a whole to hit on beat every time it comes back in the song. Currently I adjust the vocals b...

Yes, think of clip automation as adjusting the gain pot at the top of a mixer channel.

Re: MIXCRAFT 7 - MIX DOWN TO WAV FORMAT

The volume automation is definitely buggy. It often creates all sorts of crackles and pops at each node point. I'm not aware of MC completely ignoring it on mixdown though.

Certainly it's true.

Re: Using two different interfaces

...Tracks, processing, etc are converted during playback too... Yes, no? Yes but that does not cause latency. You will only encounter latency issues if you are passing audio through the DAW and you want to hear it played back simultaneously. If you're not actually playing anything, then there is no...

Re: Using two different interfaces

So its impossible (no matter what) for a digital input (no conversion) to have latency? Latency refers to what you are hearing compared to what you are playing. If you play a note but there is a 10ms delay before you actually hear it, then there is too much latency. This happens when you are passin...

That's a separate issue, not related to latency. Latency is specifically the time it takes for A/D D/A conversion to take place in the interface.

Eh? You're saying that having effects on other tracks (i.e., other than the one you are recording on) causes latency?

Re: Question about the slider by the fx button

I was referring to the Master Fader, which is a Gain Knob (between 0- +6dB) If it were a gain control it would increase the signal to the effects. It doesn't, it gives up to 6db of output level boost (or up to infinite cut) after effects and EQ have been applied. I was referring to the Master Fader...

Re: Question about the slider by the fx button

Presumably you mean the volume here, which is a volume, that also functions as a gain knob between 0 - +6dB No, it's not gain - there isn't a gain control as such, other than the clip automation. It's a fader. It performs exactly the same function as the faders on the mixer. (Best use is to keep it...

Re: Recommendations for a good set of headphones for mixing?

I mix almost exclusively on AKG 701 cans. I check the mixes through HS 80s and there is sometimes a minor discrepancy in the 300Hz area but that is the only problem.
