Re: Interfaces: define "ins" and "outs"

Thx Greg, I guess what I mean is there apparently is no real or consistent way to define what is considered an "in" or an "out." e.g. I always thought "in" meant "input with a pre-amp." But (for ex.) some use ADAT to say they have many more I/Os, which I can s...

All mics on all laptops are rubbish. So are the so-called speakers. Anything external would be a huge improvement. Glad you found one you liked.

Re: MIDI controllers (keyboards)

Go down to the music store and see what some of the different MIDI controller keyboards feel like. That might give you an idea of which models to stay away from. Thanks Greg and trust me, if that provided any answers I'd share them. :) The stores around here (mostly Sam Ash and GC) don't have any m...

Interfaces: define "ins" and "outs"

Dummy question I thought I knew the answer to, but now I'm not so sure. Internet search didn't provide a quick answer as I assumed it would. Enlighten me o experts...how exactly are these "counted?"

Re: Vocal Recording Tricks

Sometimes I duplicate vocal tracks and I will move one slightly forward a few milliseconds and the other back. I also to slight pitch shifts on the tracks with one slightly sharp and the other slightly flat. aka doubling. One way to do it anyway; most would say just record the same thing twice and ...

Re: Lag using "Square Mod Synth" at 192K?

Knowing this, why does Mixcraft even offer the 192K sample rate? Because there are a ridiculously large number of people out there who buy into the "more is better" silliness and want 192. And hey, they want to sell the product, like any business, so like any smart business, they p...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Multi-solo is most definitely a thing my dude when mixing. I mean technically it'd become "soli" but still - soloing multiple tracks is definitely a thing done fairly often, esp. in a track-heavy recording project. Doing what you're saying to do, sure, I just never called it "soloing...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Yeah I never did get the "I need to categorize my VSTs" thing. All of mine are in one folder. Very easy to re-scan.

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

uh........no. :) Kind of defeats the point of "solo." For that you can simply mute/unmute whatever tracks.

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

When I click on Solo on a track, everything else should automatically mute, and if the track I selected was muted, should automatically unmute.

It would also be nice if I un-click it, that everything reverts back, but I can see why that might have drawbacks or be trickier to implement.
