Re: ME-80 updated to 2.4

On a side note, when was the last time that the Mixcraft copy of Messiah was updated? I'm noticing that when downloading and loading the extra banks provided by Gunnar, I'm getting a "Some parameters could not be loaded (2 of 261)" error, which in my experience with SynthEdit and SE-based ...

Re: mixcraft 8 compadablity to mixcraft 7

If you need to use your Mixcraft 7 project on both machines, you need to make sure you have Mixcraft 7 on both machines. You can always contact support to see if you can obtain a compatible Mixcraft version for your home computer.

Re: "Save as MIDI file" changes instrument bug

It seems that Mixcraft is trying to output your tracks into standard MIDI format, while assuming each track is equivalent to that MIDI channel. What's happening in Track 10 (which is becoming MIDI Channel 10) is that in standard MIDI use, Channel 10 is reserved for percussion. Instead of just output...

Re: Applying an effect to only a subset of the spectrum

Don't forget you can also use send tracks. I've used parallel sends before on plenty of instruments - just make a send, grab a filter, cut out the frequency ranges you don't want to mess with, then add whatever effects you want after the filter. Add a new send, rinse, and repeat. Can really lead to ...

Interface freeze?

Hi, This evening I had Mixcraft's interface freeze up on me, while randomly playing around with a Kontakt library. Kontakt could still output audio through Mixcraft, and MIDI input was working fine to control that instance of Kontakt, but Mixcraft itself would not respond. The log is below, although...

Re: Record MIDI Arpeggiator Output to another Channel

Hi, Even if Route To Track passed along the output of a virtual instrument (like an arpeggiator) to another track, you still wouldn't be able to record it. The MIDI data would make the virtual instrument on the track sound, but the notes wouldn't be recorded. You'd still have to use a loopback util...

Re: Record MIDI Arpeggiator Output to another Channel

Hi, There is a bug filed on that particular problem, and it should hopefully be fixed in the next build. That's different from what we're talking about in this case. Greg I am aware the bug report exists; I added myself to the CC list soon after you posted that bug. I'm wondering if the two issues ...

Re: Record MIDI Arpeggiator Output to another Channel

There appears to be a bug in Mixcraft where MIDI-editing plugins (arpeggiators and other MIDI filters) do not play nice with the Route To Track option. Either the Route-to-track function ignores the plugin (tends to happen with arpeggiators in my experience - just now tested this), or simply doesn't...

Re: What corrupts a project and how can I prevent it?

Happened a while back with a project I was working on with Mixcraft 7. Got about five hours into the session, things going along excellently, saving often, etc. Came back the next day to find every backup file after a certain time to be a tidy 227kb corrupted file; the original file would only open ...

Re: What corrupts a project and how can I prevent it?

Does anybody run chkdsk anymore? I haven't done it in years, but then again, I haven't been getting corrupted files. It's been about two years since my last corrupted file. I'll have to keep that in mind if I have corruption problems in the future. What's really fun is when your original file, as w...

Re: Recording vocals in Mixcraft 8

Hmm, the UR22 mkII is interesting to me, because I don't see any Mic/Line switch on either the front or rear panel . Does the interface just somehow know which you're using? Still, you have phantom power on, so while it could still be a gain issue, I'm still not 100 sure on what's causing your issue.

Does double-clicking a file with a generic icon still open Mixcraft?

Re: Recording vocals in Mixcraft 8

I do apologize for stepping on your toes in regards to assuming how much you know or don't know regarding recording; it's a "customer service" kind of habit that I need to shake. I want to say that your problem might be a problem with your gain levels. As long as you don't ever clip when r...

Re: What corrupts a project and how can I prevent it?

It could be anything from the computer trying to write to a damaged filespace (e.g. there's a bad spot on your hard disk drive) to a power failure in some random computer component that prevents the file from being written properly. Honestly, I don't know what really causes corrupted files, the reas...

Re: Recording vocals in Mixcraft 8

How high is the recorded vocal level (looking at the meters in the mixer view) when playing back the recorded audio? If you're recording the piano and drums as MIDI in an Instrument track, then those tracks will probably be louder than most recorded audio. This is sort of getting into mixing theory,...
