Re: "If I Didn't Care" semi-open collaboration project

Cleaned up a few things, touched up the rhythm guitar, put a .wav in dropbox for Markus to start working on guitar ideas with in Mixcraft 6 basic. Put a count in at the start. Did a little note maneuvering on the bass but left it mostly intact. Copied most of the effects Tom had used. I gotta go to ...

I beleive I might be Mr. ambitious! What, I can't believe that of you, Mr. Why Put Just One 32 Band eq on a track when you can stack another equ on top of it   The more I think about it, the more I'm like, what the heck, let's get creative AND learn some engineering skills and mess...

Re: "If I Didn't Care" semi-open collaboration project

Yup, lots to think about there from someone who's 'been there'. Will take a couple days and come up with some 'ground rules'. Would love to hear more opinions in the meantime.

Re: A requiem for an old friend

Absolutely stunningly beautiful. Way to play the sound. You controlled that trumpet sound with guitar? Very nice control.

Big Green envy going on over here, lol

Must. Have. That. Horn. Patch.

The link you gave is for editing, not viewing. Took me a while to figure out. Look forward to seeing and listening! (Same for your video post)

Re: Suggestion for Plug-In Management

It sounded so goofy when I first read it that I didn't even test it out. I was waiting for someone to say "all you have to do is..."

Re: "If I Didn't Care" semi-open collaboration project

I'm going to take the PROJECT FILES folder local for a couple of days. I'll let you know when it's back online and where I'd like to go from there.

Re: "If I Didn't Care" semi-open collaboration project

Anorax has demonstrated that plugin collection files can also be shared and transferred across machines and users. This is going to be a real boon to any collaboration project where participants are running different Mixcraft versions. The Collections folder is located at %appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraf...

Re: "If I Didn't Care" semi-open collaboration project

Thanks for chiming in Mark. Just to get personal for a minute, I happen to be at a stage in my life where I have a lot of energy and free time so it's healthy to have an overwhelming project to distract me. So I don't mind the messiness, and I'm going to try and stick with it. I really have learned ...

Re: "If I Didn't Care" semi-open collaboration project

I think we should take advantage of the fact that Markus isn't ready to upgrade to version 7 yet and learn some lessons in collaborating across different versions of Mixcraft or even different DAWs. I'm emailing everyone in the group to see what version(s) of Mixcraft we've got on our PC's. Um, yeah...

Re: "If I Didn't Care" semi-open collaboration project

This is great fun, but I have already come to a couple of conclusions with a project like this: A) I've spent the last 12 hours trying to get a grip on this and while I love it, it's exhausting B) I'm going to have to be ruthless and take everything down once in a while and just clean things up to m...

Re: New song...

I know what you mean about aligning note by note to a 'floating tempo.' I recently recorded what I thought was going to be a rough demo of guitar and vocal to a single mike, just to get the levels. I liked the first take so much I used it right through to the end, and it took forever to align all th...
