Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

You can compromise if necessary. One of your outputs on the keyboard is a L/R combination mono output. In other words it combines the left and right channels for you. You don’t get stereo this way but you get the full keyboard output as a mono channel. This way you only need one connection to the au...

Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

My bad on the cable. It looks like, from the user manual, that your line outs on your keyboard are actually 1/4 inch phone jacks. So you would need a cable with phone plugs on each end. Two of these cables. A694CADF-1E51-419C-A48C-2F2DCC61A77F.jpeg Which leads me to the question, are these the outpu...

Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

I don’t think you can get audio out of your keyboard through the midi connection or the usb connection. All you’ll get is midi. You have to come out of your line out 3.5 mm connection on your keyboard and plug into the mic/line combo inputs on the front. Like I had mentioned before you need to look ...

Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

Don’t forget a new adapter cable. You’ll need to come out of your keyboard with the 3.5 mm stereo plug to 2 mono phone plugs ( 1/4 inch TR) .

Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

I would recommend downloading the user manual for the interface you are interested in and look it over to be sure you understand what it can do and how to do it! :D

Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

The USB connection is transmitting MIDI. That’s why the instrument track, Acoustic Piano, is giving you sound. Don’t keep the USB connection hooked up while trying to get Audio sound. Try the different settings of your sound card. Also, in windows, see if there are any hidden or disabled sound setti...

Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

To Mark’s point, yes, an audio device dedicated to music production is the best option these days. However, your sound card should still produce something! So don’t give up just yet. Try some other settings on the sound card and see what happens. :D

Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

Not have anything connected to the card physically, I meant on the Mixcraft dropdown menu when you arm a track and select an audio source. This menu in Mixcraft. Your playback should be something other than SPDIF also. Play around with these settings and see if you can get sound. 9DA60F27-6539-482E-...

Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

Since you basically proved your keyboard out is ok, it’s isolated to your sound card now. When you arm a track can you get your soundcard line out as an option? :D

Re: DMXIS VST

Looks like your program works as a vst plugin that uses a midi track with midi messages to control the hardware. This is from the user manual: The easiest way to create a fully automated light show with the plug-in is as follows: • Create a number of banks & presets for all the looks you want in...

Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

Here’s a link to the computer operations manual for your keyboard. Note that you need some specific drivers to do audio, see page 5 in the manual. It references a Steinberg audio driver. Some other good info also. https://usa.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/4/329494/computer_en_rm_m0.pdf#page...

Re: Yamaha PSR-S975 - What am I doing wrong?

Ok Chief, one more time. Your keyboard has a line out, correct? Do you have to do anything on your keyboard to direct it to use the line out? On your sound card there is a line in jack, not Mic 1 or 2. Make sure you go to this input. If you plug headphones into your computer, do you hear your keyboa...

Re: Possible bug?

Delete track (singular). Also, on the project I had this happen, I cleaned out some unused tracks, and the issue seems to have gone away. It only seem to happen if I add an audio track to the end of the project below an existing audio track. I’ll see if it happens again. :D
