This is a great forum but it appears there is no moderator. The download function is no longer available?

Re: And the Winners Are!

I'd like to thank everyone who particiapted, created, and critiqued. It takes courage to present to strangers anything creative. We all have our likes and dislikes and also our abilities. I'm amazed at the quality and hard work put in by all. I'll definately be listening to all future works from all...

Re: Challenge: Publish an example of your work in a month!

Ok took everyone's advice and re-mixed, mastered. It does sound a lot brighter. Added some strings also. Thanks everyone for the help! :D

Re: Challenge: Publish an example of your work in a month!

Trevlyn, does double tracking a part and offsetting the time a bit help to keep it "alive" in the mix? Sort of what I did for the vocals but haven't quite got the acoustic guitar to stand out.

Re: Challenge: Publish an example of your work in a month!

SoundSquire thanks for the tips, I'll give them a shot. I have the hardest time separating sounds and cleaning up the master. I think I've been doing to much reading and not enough listening. I'll remaster and see what happens.

Re: Challenge: Publish an example of your work in a month!

OK gang. Here's my submittal for the song of March. A great Clapton Tune Tears In Heaven. I'm still working on mastering this a bit netter, the guitar work is still a bit muddy. Maybe I'll learn something in the Intro To Music Production course that can help me out. Anyway, here's the link: http://m...

Re: Vocal Harmony

Her's another method that I use to create vocal harmonies. After I record the vocal track I create a duplicate track. Then using the pitch adjustment in the Sound tab in Mixcraft, I set the pitch of the second track to a +2 or -2 (sometimes more or less). If you want 3 part harmony, duplicate the tr...

Re: PC and Laptop Setup for Best Performance With Mixcraft

Thanks. I wasn't sure if this was something new or I just stumbled on a Windows "defect". Also, keep in mind the audio will output from your audio interface. You won't be able to use the on-board sound card or speakers for audio out. This is prorbaly OK anyway because I have always sent my...

Re: Challenge: Publish an example of your work in a month!

I have been posting to Mixcraft Live under the artist T-Guitar. Several songs there that I used MIDI and live guitar, bass and vocal. One song Lost In Los Cabos is a compliation of sound loops that come with Mixcraft. This was my first effort in Mixcraft. By the way Trevor, I am also taking the Berk...

PC and Laptop Setup for Best Performance With Mixcraft

I have a laptop with Win 7 64 bit operating system. It has an Intel I7 Quad core processor, 16 MB of Ram and a Solid sate Drive (SSD). I have the Mixcraft 6 Pro DAW and an external M-Audio C600 audio interface. I have been experimenting with the audio interface setup and found something interesting....

I checked and did not see any notations for program or bank changes, however, I did turn all controllers off and I will give it a try.

Virtual Instrment tracks lose setting and do not play back

I load up several midi tracks and when I record an audio track the midi tracks lose their virtual instrument settings and I get no sound. The recorded track plays back fine. I go to each midi track and reset the virtual instrument (select a new one and set it back to the old one) and the sound plays...
