Comin' back to Mixcraft - a quick story...

Postby trevlyns » Mon Sep 16, 2019 3:14 pm

as most of the OFC members will know, I've been an MC user since V5. Strayed over to reaper a couple of years back, but always kept MC updated and am now running 8 Pro.
Put out some feelers recently looking for an acoustic group to record. One responded and they came over tonight 'just to take a look at the studio and have a chat'. Well that soon turned into a full blown recording session! One guy on acoustic guitar and vocals, and two female harmony singers.
Well, I know Reaper, lemme pull it out and get tracking. But all sorts of problems and I didn't want to look incompetent. So cracked open Mixcraft and just went to work right away without any problems!
Not how I would normally record: a scratch track first, then individual singers and instruments. Nope - just threw up 3 mic's and DI'd the guitar, gave a count in and hit record.
So pleased with the results and so were they. And it's not even edited yet - all dry tracks and no FX. Will tweak a bit of magic tomorrow, but thanks Mixcraft for saving the day!
Keep on trackin'
