Soundfonts and Samples

Postby veganpete » Thu Jan 10, 2013 7:36 pm

Hi, is it possible to use soundfonts and samples as instruments with Mixcraft6?

I've used some samples as drum-loops and vocals but was wondering if I could use the stabs and keys samples I have using my MIDI controller, so I can play them as instruments? Also, same question for Soundfonts please...

I guess there may be a VSTi that can load samples and soundfonts into it so they can be selected as presets/instruments if it's not a native part of Mixcraft already?

Thanks, Pete.

Hi,

That's right, Mixcraft doesn't include a soundfont player or sampler plugin, but of course you can use a plugin. Here are a couple:

Short Circuit http://www.vemberaudio.se/shortcircuit.php
Highlife http://www.discodsp.com/highlife/

There's also Kontakt Player and lots of others.

I play my soundfont files with Alchemy from Camel Audio.. If you have any of the Garritan products, their Aria player will lay soundfont files too
