Hi,

I did a search for 'record from marker' and turned up just one result.

I would like to set a marker...explain briefly what extra idea I had for that marker but snap to it to record at that marker but muting the original track.

I want to record a separate track about a vocal ( or other) idea at that marker place but without monitoring.

This way the new ideas are lined-up right where (i think) they should be.

If anybody has a parallel-type workflow suggestion to this, I'm open to it.

I am going back over 1st stage/work-in-progress guitar and now want to lay down lyrical ideas...

I would like the caret to snap to the marker.

From there I would like to arm and record the lane-mode track.

I can cntrl+space to navigate through to the marker but I have to press space a 2nd time to halt it.

From that marker I would like to record in a lane.

When I armed the track with lanes, the caret wanted to record from back to a position on another separate track in the project.

It began where I last recorded on a separate track (i think).

By this proposed method I can "sketch" over the length of my first ugly duckling track and add tips spontaneously.

Then when I 'scan' over the entire track again one should be able to intuit a feel at the same marker and go "oh hey your future swan already stopped by here and he had something to say" -all with lanes stacked at the same marker place.

This is a workflow style.

Can I do this with MC?

Hi,

Maybe you should look into Punch and Loop Recording? Click the link to watch the video.
