My direct recorded guitar sound is playing back in a lower key and sounds a bit distorted. I tried Wave, Wave RT, ASIO...tried changing latency, buffer size, sample rate, bit rate and updating drivers and nothing worked. Then just for the heck of it, I switched my audio interface from the 3.0 USB input to the 2.0 USB on my computer, rebooted my DAW and it worked!!! However, I shut down my DAW and now tried recording today and I have the problem again. My drum, bass and synth VST plug-ins sound just fine during playback though. Thoughts anyone?

Well it's obviously related to the interface and probably it's driver. See if there is an updated driver for the interface on its manufacturers website.

Even if you use a usb port that only supports 2.0 and not 3.0?

That's correct...I originally was using the USB 3.0 on my PC even though my Saffire 6 audio interface isn't a USB 3.0 device, with the understanding that 3.0 is backwards compatible. Just in case, I tried switching the Saffire to my USB 2.0 input on my PC and it worked until I shut down my PC and rebooted. So it did work for a short while!

Does the same thing happen if you record into software other than mixcraft?
