I recently saw a video (protools) where the guy sent the kick track to another track which was heavily compress and then blended with the original track again. It sounded pretty cool.

I set up ez drummer to split up to the possible 8 tracks. All elements become automatically subgrouped under one "ezdrummer" track. So far so good. Unfortunatly I can not create a sendtrack inside this group to send the kick into, nor can I make one outside the group, because none of the single drum tracks can be send, only the main Grouptrack get the send leveler.

Is there a way to do what's called "parallel compression" in the video? maybe there is a free compressor with a wet/dry setting, which basically describes the effect, I guess.

thanks
Michael

Hi,

Mixcraft 6 can't assign individual send tracks to individual VSTi outs, as you've discovered. That feature may show up in Mixcraft 7 next year.

You could solo the track, then choose "Mix to New Audio Track" from the Track menu. Then you can use a send track with that.

For product update news, click "Like" on Mixcraft's Facebook page or sign up for the Acoustica Newsletter.
