Newbie looking for help

Postby Ton3E » Thu Jun 13, 2013 6:01 pm

My name is Tony, and I've been djing for a few years. I've come to the point that I want to try my hand at production (spacificly house music, edm, or whatever you wanna call it).
I am completely new to the production aspect of this. I just downloaded the trial version of Mixcraft, Reaper, and ableton. Im leaning towards Mixcraft because the workflow is similar to Acid. I used Acid to "master" my mixes.
Now my 1st question would be, does anybody here use Mixcraft for house music production?
Second, Is there any kind of template out there to use on as a basic starting point like there are for the other daw's?

We don't have any house music templates for Mixcraft. You can create your own template files by changing the file type when you save your project. To get started, you might try searching Mixcraft's library for "house."

We have lots of helpful videos here: Mixcraft University and Mixcraft Mini-Tips

Thanks for the input guys. I've checked out the mini-tips. I picked up a few things from there.
I'll also check out those websites.
Dj Housefly, ultimately that's what I'll be doing but I'm a visual person and seeing a premade template would help give a few ideas. Especially with starting the track as this has been my biggest hurdle so far.
