Re: Recording live concert into mixcraft

It's a concert, there are 60 people coming. The room is a large garage with a stage made of pallets. There's no changing that. :) The mic is an SM-58, standard performance vocal mic. I'm not well versed in this area but one thing I would do is set everything up and do a soundcheck if you can before...

Re: Midi Drum Problem

It's never happened to me but I have read on this or some other forums about this problem before and the workaround was starting later in the timeline (bars 2,3,4 etc.). Never heard of the 'Fwump' sound though. I think it usually a stutter of the first note. I usually start a project on bar 4 or 8 a...

Re: Record output of PC?

Here is an article that talks about what Greg mentioned with Stereo Mix. If that does not work it explains how to record streaming audio with Audacity ( which is free). And then you could export the audio file into Mixcraft. https://www.howtogeek.com/217348/how-to-record-the-sound-coming-from-your-p...

Re: Vst3 to Vst help?

Just to throw my two cents in!

I can not remember ever having a problem with VST3, but I have read on a lot of forums where people were and then reverted back to VST2 solved there problem with a plugin. Guess I'm special.

I always install both anyways.

Re: Midi Drum Problem

Is this drum track at the beginning of the timeline (project)? Have you tried to insert a one or two bars of silence into the timeline at the beginning to see what happens? If not try that to see what happens. Page 55 of the manual.

Re: Neutron: Midi into MC7 - ?

You're right, it definitely doesn't. The usb connection allows Mixcraft to identify Neutron as an external MIDI device but it won't accept the Neutron as a synthesizer; so, for example, when I ask to 'edit' Neutron I don't get a virtual control panel for it in Mixcraft, like I do with vst synthesiz...

Re: Neutron: Midi into MC7 - ?

Not sure what you are doing but I would add a midi track and select the Q25 as the input when you arm it and then when you select the instrument for the midi track select external midi device and then select the Neutron. This should send the midi that you are playing from the keyboard to the midi tr...

I think I'll just buy this cable tomorrow and hope it works. https://http2.mlstatic.com/cabo-midi-usb-para-teclado-yamaha-extenso-usb-20-D_NQ_NP_815519-MLB31755610269_082019-F.webp You got to have this type of cable hooked up to your computer. That is why you are getting the " no device connec...

Re: Yamaha PSR 8000 & Mixcraft 8

Sounds like the common denominator here is your usb to midi cable. I would not give up. You can pick up a cheapo new one off ebay for like $10. Roland and some other brand name ones sell for like $35. Before I spent that type of money though I would look into something like this. https://www.ebay.co...

Re: Changing Effects in Real Time

"I have mixcraft 7 and I’m new to it. Is there a way to change the levels of effects as the song plays? For example, if I add reverb to a track is there a way to change the intensity of the reverb as the tune plays? I’m not looking for an instant change. I’m looking for something that would be ...

Re: How to make a midi track from a real kick drum track?

Check out pages 97 to 100 in the manual. Basically you will be creating hit transients of the kick drum and then creating a midi loop. How good it comes out depends on the audio. If there is a lot of bleed thru of the other instruments it may not perform this function to good. You can use an equaliz...

Re: Routing to another track

OK, where are you going to send these three outputs(frequency bands) to for processing? The only way I know to do something like this with what is included in mixcraft is to duplicate the track and then put a low-pass filter on one and a high -pass filter, etc with an EQ or filter. And then you coul...

Re: Routing to another track

If I understand you correctly, you have a midi track with a bassline and want to move the lower notes to a new midi track and the same for the mid-range notes and higher(treble) notes? If so, go into the piano roll editor and select/ lasso the notes you want on a new track, for instance the lower no...
