Re: KEEP GETTING BUMPED BACK TO THE DEFAULT PIANO VST

What it means is within the midi file or clip you are playing, there is a command message that is telling Mixcraft to change instruments before it plays the file or clip. You need to find the command and delete it.

Re: Tremolo Harmonica sound

Just add a vst tremolo effect on the track. I do not believe Mixcraft comes with one but I may be wrong. There are free ones on the net such as this one, http://adammonroemusic.com/free-tremolo-vst/tremolo-vst-free.html If you google there are more. If you have a midi controller you could use it to ...

Re: Midifile import

Yes, there are a couple of different ways. I normally go to the Sound Menu at the top left in Mixcraft and select Add Sound File and browse to the midi file and open it, page 343 in the manual. If it is a multitrack midi file it will open midi tracks for each instrument and assign a sound from the A...

Re: Replace all clips option?

If your kick drum is on a seperate track, you can try the slice to transient function on page 98 and 99 in the manual. I've never tried it but according to the manual you can use this to create a midi loop and then use the midi loop to trigger the Omni sampler with your new kick .wav on one of the p...

Re: 64 bit MC8 ASIO Audio Issue?

Couple of questions.

Is this only one project in Mixcraft 64 or does all your projects do it in asio mode?

What is your CPU meter and System meter say when this is happening?

Also did you render any virtual instrument( midi) tracks to an audio track to where it could of been recorded permanently?

Re: Help me Hook up

I'm not sure about the Focusrite but I'll explain how I do my sound modules. All of mine are USB, so the track with the midi file on it you open up the instrument editor and press external midi device (look at the picture on page 107 of the manual) then on the arrow next to the record button I pick ...

Re: monitoring volume.

Set the recording level with the track fader for your guitar track and adjust the overall volume with the master track fader and the drum level with it's track fader. The master fader will not bother your recording level for you guitar track.

Re: Adding Instruments?

Did not mean to bum you out!! The sounds you want are there, you just have to grab them another way. Do not let that stop you. Hook your Akai to your Korg thru the midi connection to get the get the sounds you want!Just have to go thru your interface>

Re: Adding Instruments?

I do not believe what you are trying to do is possible ( Adding instruments to the dropdown menu ). The only way I know to get the sounds from your Korg into Mixcraft is to sample the sounds(record and edit) from the keyboard and then add the .wav files to a sampler like Alpha or Omni Sampler and pl...

Re: Problem with Record Modes! *HALP*

Sounds like you have Looping enabled when recording. From page 118 of the manual: "Lanes allow multiple tracks of audio (or MIDI) to occur on the same channel, and are created automatically when looping is enabled in Takes or Overdub recording mode." Page 120: "Loop recording allows r...

Re: How do I record my guitar on mixcraft 8 using an iRig HD 2?

Can you hear anything out of the IRig headphone jack. Also if you are trying hear sound thru the computer make sure the little speaker icon on the track is lit up (on) so you can monitor the sound.

Re: Compatible Surface Controllers for MixCraft 8

I'm thinking about getting a Akai MPK249 Professional keyboard controller... Does anyone have one, your thoughts? I have no experience with it but I thought I would share this video for people who have not seen it yet. He's not using a MK249 but a MK49. It shows how easy it is to set up in Mixcraft...

You say that some buttons don't do anything, but can't they be assigned with MIDI learn?

Unfortunately no, it is a different protocol. From what little I know it uses midi messages and sysex messages both.
