Re: Needing a new interface

I respectfully disagree. Disagree all you like, no sweat off my back. You're opinion is definitely in the minority, by a lot. Try a Google search for 'Audient id14 review'. Nothing but raves, especially about the price, Brown-burr DAC are world class and at the price are a steal. Don't know how muc...

Re: Needing a new interface

the Audient stuff is getting rave reviews from everywhere. its not cheap, but its not expensive either, and from what I gather its batting in the UAD league in terms of converters and pres, but priced in the Focusrite league. I can vouch for the id14, great unit! Pres are awesome, solidly built, gr...

Re: Upgrading my machine

Bill, I've done both upgrades to my current machine, but it was a 64 machine to begin with so that didn't matter. The upgrade of RAM and an SSD made a big difference in boot up, system speed and multitasking. Like Mark said, you may be restricted by your motherboard but it's still worth a shot, IMO. M

Re: Why no 88.2kHz and 176.4kHz Sample Rates available for Mix Down

Dale gets post of the month for me, and it's only the 2nd! I do that from time to time, it's like cleansing, I listen to some stuff that I can listen to for an hour and not even want to think about the nuts and bolts, just good listening. Important to step back sometimes and remember why most of us ...

They'll be in the same location as in earlier MC, MC8 will automatically default to that file that you've used. It was all automatic for me.

Re: White noise in audio recordings?

+1 on the electrical thought, sounds like a ground issue. Try another electrical outlet and/or power strip or extension cord. A DI box is very handy to have not just for the ground so that could very well do it.

Re: Mixcraft not fitting my screen?

I think the issue is your TV, it's not a monitor so it can behave differently than a true monitor. You can check to see if you can find some better settings for video on PC or TV, or maybe update video drivers but I think you could be out of luck using your TV.

Aint that the truth! Tried a few years ago and had so many issues that I just gave up. Thankfully I have no problems with Amplitube, that would really bite as it's my go to amp/effect sim.

Re: Can no longer use Wave or Core Audio (Wave RT)

Nobody has mentioned to right click on the speaker icon and go to the advanced settings and make sure the settings there are the same as your interface. I've lost audio from YouTube and such and these settings were the ticket.

Re: Remote MX App - Android

Just downloaded and tested with MC8, no issues here. It really sounds like McAfee is the culprit for you Bill. I've found that some free anti malware/virus protectors are far better than the paid when it comes to being less invasive. And free is always good for me. IMO people are a bit too hung up o...

Re: unable to use 2 midi controllers at same time

You have to make sure midi channels aren't shared, meaning if you have a fader that's cc9, cc9 can't be used on other device. You'll have to go into either NK or Akai software and reassign any duplicates.

Re: Can't detect audio device

Hey man, FWIW I used to own a UX2 and had some driver issues when I did switch to W10, they had a firmware update in about a weeks time. I never did care for their whole monkey download procedure. But iirc don't you have to have podfarm open to have daw see the ux1? It's been awhile but I remember h...

Re: Setup-File suggestions

You know, I have an OLD Casio DH-(something) digital sax somewhere, that has a 5 pin MIDI plug..... I am wondering if it might not make a fun breath controller/MIDI controller. I have to dig that thing out of the back of the audio closet and experiment! I used to play around with that thing before ...

Re: Minding Acoustica's Business

There are a lot of people still writing jazz, rock, blues, R&B, country, folk and pop but I haven't run across anything that knocks my socks off. I hear a lot of good technical playing but not much feel, creativity, or motive. Not meaning to offend but you've got to get out more, or start check...

Re: Mixcraft still the easiest learning curve!

There's also tried and true products that have stood the test of time. Sure you could do blind tests etc but there are products out there that are industry standards for a reason. My brother has SM57s and 58's from the 80's that are still kicking despite being through hell and back. Yes, we get your...
