Re: 80s Gated Reverb Snare Sound

Id have to check the weather in Miami. I assume its warm.
And I think the only thing I have forgotten about Phil is how many times I changed the station when "that song" came on.
I am not much of a fan of mainstream popular music. Then or now. 8)

Re: 80s Gated Reverb Snare Sound

Yep. Basically the gate on the verb "closes" upon being triggered by the snare, and at the appropriate time "opens" and allows just the verb tail to be heard. That is basically the essence of it as I recall. And if I remember correctly, I read somewhere that the original idea cam...

Re: Setting master volume????

There are perhaps many things to consider. You could feasibly use the master fader to boost or attenuate the output for mixdown. But if you are inclined to be accurate, and meter.... Any metering plug-in would be pre fader, so to be accurate, it would be best to set levels before any final metering....

Re: 80s Gated Reverb Snare Sound

I understand everyone learns in different ways, but I have to honestly say I understood exactly zero of what was being presented (or attempted to) in that FL tutorial video..... With a little searching you can find some tutorial examples that actually more clearly show various methods. The basic pre...

Re: Mixcraft is PRETTY NEAT !

Hi Steph, and welcome! I for one thought the bot comment was funny. But then I have been known to put a belt in the blender and end up a bit.... Confused. 8) But I also think perhaps the bot filter needs a backup... Another layer.... Something... We have been inundated with dumb spam here la...

Re: Need help with file

By providing a good description and a copy of the project file, the OP laid the groundwork for relatively easy detective work. :D
I wish more people made it so easy.... 8)

Re: moving projects .

Open MX8 and navigate to the MX7 project file and open it. When it has successfully loaded, save it. Its now an MX8 project.
Hooray for backwards compatability!

Re: Need help with file

An unsolicited additional tip: If you mix down with this madness going on: Level 1.png It will likely result in a pretty poor sounding track due to severe digital clipping. Double click on your master fader, returning it to unity (zero) Leave it there. It is not a playback volume fader.... Se...

Re: Need help with file

Hello and welcome! OK, heres the deal: I am assuming you didnt write the MIDI for this project right? When you download MIDI projects, they often contain some rogue controls and commands. Cant ever say exactly why, cant say what the person who wrote it was thinking, or if its simply a mistake. But I...

Re: Yamaha PSR 8000 & Mixcraft 8

It still sounds to me like the OP may be expecting to get his keyboard sounds via midi, but I could be wrong.

Defaulting to the piano is normal, unless you select an different instrument.

There's missing info here.

Re: Please help a noobie

I'd suggest the best thing to is start experimenting to learn! Dont approach it as if your going to make your lifes masterpiece on the first try. You wont! You learn best by doing, so do! I cant help much specifically with Rap, but general help, certainly! You mentioned headset, did you mean headpho...

Re: Master Meter Levels

Thanks guys and brother Mark for a detailed explanation too  Coming to think about it, I use T-Racks mastering suite which can be stand alone or plugin - very accurate metering system. Another route could be my Klanghelm VUMT meter with a brickwall limiter as last plug in the chain - I normal...
