Re: Microphones

I have a M-Audio interface which I use for guitar but I have no idea what phantom power is and what relevance it has to microphone performance. A quick, basic and simplified answer- Condenser Mics - Uses 48 Volt phantom power. A lot of mixers, mic preamps and interfaces have phantom power integrate...

Re: Notation launch pad pro

I use an older Novation Launch Control with Mixcraft with no problems, so you should be able to use it. However some of these new controllers are made to integrate with Ableton and logic specifically, so all the features may not work the same as in Mixcraft.

Re: Triggering external keyboard sounds (JV 90) w/ virtual track

I do this in my setup all the time with a Roland sound module and Korg keyboard. Not sure what is happening in your situation but I will explain how I do it and maybe it will help. I select external midi device for the midi track I want to send to the synth, and then select the midi channel ( ex. ch...

Re: Keyboard controler with mx8

Hey Jon, what have you tried so far? Does Mixcraft see your M-Audio as a midi input device? Have you seen these videos?

Re: Audio Interfaces: your experiences

Started out with a Lexicon Alpha, was not that great but got the job done. Remember having to fiddle with the settings a lot to compensate for latency. Then moved on to a Zoom R16, I still have for a backup. Never had any problem with it except at one point something on my computer was changing the ...

Re: Using guitar to play virtual instruments

By the way, here is a video of a guy using the built in looper on the Roland GR-55. I wish I was this proficient with it.

Re: Using guitar to play virtual instruments

There is basically about 4 ways to do what you want and none come with Mixcraft and none are free. I have one of the Sonnus boxes from about a decade ago. It has been updated since but the version I have is only monophonic ( single notes only, no chords). It was alright for that time but mine only h...

Re: How do I fade in/out a sound effect?

Look into Automation.

Take a look at page 190 in the Mixcraft 8 manual.

These two videos will help also, they are for Mixcraft 7 but everything should be the same for 8.

Re: yamaha moxf and mixcraft

One more thing you may want to check is the sample rate setting on your keyboard and what sample rate you have selected in sound device settings in Mixcraft, I believe they have to match up. Good luck.

Re: yamaha moxf and mixcraft

I do not own the Yamaha keyboard but the only time I have got that message is when I started Mixcraft before powering on or hooking up my audio interface. If you are using the Yamaha keyboard as your audio interface make sure you have the drivers installed and the keyboard powered up before you star...

Re: Recording bass direct?

On the rare occasions I play my cheap Kramer bass I usually go straight into a Presonus Eureka preamp. It also has EQ and compression on it, then straight in to my interface. I do not do a lot of processing after this, sometimes I might throw one of the bass amp sims on there to add a little grit de...

Re: Recording VST audio

Not real clear on the question either, but once you get your individual tracks from the VSTi the way you want you can render each track to a new audio track instead of recording them. Page 48 in the Mixcraft 8 manual.
