Re: Stand alone PC, or general PC

Even a new computer has a lot of overhead flashed onto it already. Important too is where you are going to use it. A mean-and-clean dedicated computer in its own 'production' space would be ideal. So, if you are forced into using the space you already use for other things, I'd say that as long as yo...

Re: How many albums to really know what you are doing?

So are you looking for some magic number that will be the affirmation of how good you are? You shouldn't denigrate the fact that we are the ones who create something from nothing consistently and though the first time we do that may not be the finest hour of the craft, it indicates that we have met ...

Re: Would you record music in a 1950's studio?

There's always something to spend it on...

Maybe. Just for fun although it is a practical waste of time and money. (It would make a good museum display.)

Re: I can't give away my music for free

Creative Commons is no panacea when it comes to giving away music. If you wanted to play someone's music on a commercial radio station they would have to have applied for the CC commercial license, etc. Bandwidth is not cheap either. Rooms full of hard drives and the overhead that requires has to be...

Re: Soundcloud?

Would that be financial viability or by being inaccessible on the www? It seems to me that a while back SC let folks know that they might be going totally Euro (or something like that) which would leave North and South America in the lurch. I'm guessing that it's because of US copyright lawyers and ...

Re: Why is this odd triangle in the lower right corner?

Maybe it's just to let the user know the extent of the full screen has been reached. If you have a tool bar at the bottom of your screen like I do, you won't even see it unless you make the user window smaller.

Hey that's a fine one. Would you mind if I featured it at our next theater performance?

Re: Live video recording in Mixcraft 8 Pro

I don't know about your video cam but mine will record my breathing and snorting unless it's on a tripod. Another way to augment the cameras recording is to get a hand held digital recorder, e.g., DR Tascam or ZOOM, and you can audit the file to sound pretty much like you need it to be without the c...

Not a big demand for them... otherwise there would be some freebies, no doubt.

Re: Recorder and Bass Recorder VST

Hello Rob

In the meantime you could check out the Acoustica instrument Recorder and then edit the instrument FX for a 'Bathroom' reverb and drop the pitch 3 semi-tones.

Re: Help with mixing and mastering rap vocals

Hello from Toby Keith 'Wacky Tabaccy' country. That's a very unusual but likable style you have there. As far as what you need to deal with on your vocal is apparent in 'Sax' @ 2:07-2:08. It goes from hiss to no hiss presumably as either the mic was turned off or that vocal track ended. Your voice i...

Re: An exception was encountered!

Did you download the MIDI track or compose it yourself?

In case of the former I'd suspect the MIDI file is doing something odd and for the latter I'd suspect that you don't have the latest WIN update. If those conditions are met then another option would be to send some Dump to Greg 'n them!

Re: 6.1 will no longer record

I am using windows 7 Home prem. running through Alesis Mixer USB. I don't have mixcraft 8 I have 6.1. Seems every time You start pushing a newer version the old one stops working, at least that is what happened the last time I had to upgrade. WHY? What I was getting to was that you could at least d...
