Re: MIDI Controller Keyboard Survey

Keep it coming folks, I'm shopping :) Min 61 keys though, and if anyone knows of one with a true "semi-weighted" feel (not the heavy fully weighted but not the lightweight "synth action" either), pls pass it along.

What prompted the question Greg, you shopping too?

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Add a PAUSE button to the transport bar. "Just toggle the play button" you might say...but I have it set up so that when I toggle the PLAY button, it auto-rewinds to the beginning, which I often use. Still, there are times when I want to just stop right wherever I am and not rewind all th...

Side note, actually MS Word and Open Office/Libre Office (probably some others) can open and even make PDFs.

tbh I'd prefer this thread die a merciful death, it's serving no purpose, legit or not.

Dummy cable question: balanced vs unbalanced

OK.......I was just talking about this online w/someone and realized I may not know as much as I thought....and the net isn't coughing up any answers. I've read up on this so I don't need a Cables 101 per se. I get the gist of why one is better vs the other, the "guts" of them, how balance...

ASIO: why/why not

I've searched the net and get the gist...and the main pro seems to be reduced latency. But I've found little on why NOT to use. ? It doesn't seem to be esp popular from what I gather; why?

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Say I solo the bass to hear what it is doing. Now I want to hear it together with the kick drum. Going by your description I have to un-solo the bass, mute all of the tracks in the project, un-mute the bass, then un-mute the kick. ? No, all you'd have to do is unmute the kick. Again to me "sol...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

4. More freely movable/dockable/resizable elements : Especially the transport bar has always been a peeve of mine. It would be SO nice if we could resize and move elements such as the transport bar to be more compact and fit in with our preferred work flows. It would also totally rock if we could o...

I won't say absolutely no way ever on auto tune stuff, but that's my intent. I'd rather just sing it right.

Re: Interfaces: define "ins" and "outs"

The point is though: sometimes these manufacturers will note that an interface has an ADAT port and then proceed to "count" ins. and outs. that are only available if you buy the additional hardware required to connect via ADAT (this 18i8 being a typical example). That's not honest. Exactly.
