Re: UJAM PHAT Virtual Drummer - Free Download!

When you say "18MB VSTi", are you referring to the size of its VST folder I just checked my install and the VD-PHAT.dll file is about 18 MB in size. I was replying to mixyguy2. He was concerned that the installer was 500MB, but the VSTi was only 18MB. I've confirmed it's because the sound...

Re: UJAM PHAT Virtual Drummer - Free Download!

... I am suspicious of a 500MB install file which installs an 18MB VSTi. I haven't installed PHAT yet, but I do one of Ujam's guitar instruments and it installed a large proprietary soundset file on my samples drive (Which would explain why the installer was so large). When you say "18MB VSTi&...

UJAM PHAT Virtual Drummer - Free Download!

Ujam PHAT Virtual Drummer VSTi -- Free Download (Until Sept 10, when it goes back to its regular price of $79!) https://www.avid.com/special-offers/ujam-virtual-drummer-phat I realize this should probably go in the Plugins subforum, but figured a lot more people would see it here. Mods, of course fe...

Re: Adjust Playrate

Yeah, this feature-request has been one of the most (If not THE most) asked-for features for MC...

A way to vary tempo using a tempo map or editor. For example, draw in an up or down ramp on a section and have it play back gradually faster or slower.

Hopefully version 9!

First, try a different USB port (preferably on a different controller). If that doesn't help... This vid goes over some of the more common things to look at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMXz81p0g28&t=2s If you're still having problems, run the free latencymon utility to identify what's takin...

Could be USB power saving kicking in. Under Power Options, make sure you have "High Performance" selected.

If you haven't done any system performance tweaks, it's definitely worth checking out:

Re: Hissing sound when listening on smartphone.

However when I listen to the song on my phone ( using its own speakers ) there is a LOT of hissing especially on words with S's. However, if i listen to the same song on my pc headphones or using a bluetooth speaker on my smartphone the hissing goes away... Is it just this song that sounds bad? Hav...

Re: USB Interface Recommendations

I think it's a wise decision to go for a dedicated audio interface over the sound card. In the under $400 (new) range, practically every current interface has comparable quality converters, so I wouldn't spend much time obsessing over that. The most important feature IMO is stability of drivers. In ...

Re: Why Only 16-Bit From ASIO Interface

.... So how would I attach my mics (which use XLR cables) XLR to 3.5mm adapter? or XLR mic into mixer, then mixer out to sound card input? Basically you'd want to avoid using the USB converter on the mixer. By staying with the mixer's analog audio ins/outs, you are preserving the 24-bit depth all t...

Re: Why Only 16-Bit From ASIO Interface

According to the Profx8 v1 manual, the onboard USB converter is limited to 16 bit, 44.1, 48 khz recording. These types of USB mixers are not really designed for multitracking, but for summing audio in and out of your computer. One solution for recording at 24 bit is to try using your onboard sound c...

Reboot your system, then reset and rescan your VST plugins. If that doesn't solve the problem, try an uninstall/reinstall of MC 8 Pro, then rescan the plugins again.

Re: Ear piercing exploding noises when core audio options set 24 bit and beyond

I’m using integrated motherboard sound with no dedicated sound card. I have the waveRT selected with the ASIO option grayed out. I’m assuming that means I do not have the ASIO drivers installed. My pc can handle 24 and 32 bit for sure just need to get this noise burst problem out of the way. I’ll b...

Thanks Greg, I stand corrected... Of course, this still leads to the next logical step: OP trying an ASIO driver (native or asio4all).

Re: Ear piercing exploding noises when core audio options set 24 bit and beyond

Noise bursts are typically related to your sound card drivers. Are you using an onboard sound card or dedicated audio interface? Make sure you have the latest version of the driver. If you are using a generic sound card, try the free asio4all driver. "Core audio" is a Mac driver term. Are ...
