Re: white noise, cpu spikes, glitches in MC8

The plug ins being used are nothing unusual and from vendors with a proven track record. Sound Toys, Plug in alliance, Tokyo Dawn Labs, etc. All of them work fine in Sonar and Studio One. But I will look into this angle further. ... The VST spec (rules of coding) has many areas that are open to int...

Re: white noise, cpu spikes, glitches in MC8

If you have been able to run MC for hours without incident, then there is likely nothing wrong with the installation, so re-installing won't make a difference. (Still, for future reference, if you ever see get a message that the process is still running, start Task Manager *Hit control-alt-delete ke...

Re: New problem running Sampletank

What are your system specs? (Samp 3 requires a fairly current system with a decent amount of memory).

Latest version of Sampletank installed?

Re: Vocals in Mixcraft 8 cut out

Are you using the Ozone plugin on the master bus or individual tracks? Master bus would be the most cpu-efficient... but failing that, it may be that your system isn't powerful enough to run Ozone as a VST plugin. Have you tried standalone Ozone? (You export the "pre-mastered" stereo wav f...

Re: Vocals in Mixcraft 8 cut out

....when I'm mixing my vocals and apply the plugin iZotope Ozone, there are certain parts of my vocals that cut out. It is completely unusable, even when it's exported as an MP3. I also notice that on the bottom right corner where it indicates CPU usage, it definitely goes higher when I utilize iZo...

Re: Mixcraft 8 doesn't detect Amplitube 4

Been awhile since I had to reinstall an IK Multimedia product, but they can be tricky to get working.

For me the trick was to remember to run the standalone first, activate that -- then let your DAW scan the VST.

Re: Intermittent popping noises on instrument input... can't figure out the source!

I'm starting to think it's a Windows issue that popped up with the Windows Creator update (12/15/2017 on my machine). I wish I just stayed on Windows 8 and didn't do the free update to Windows 10. :x Guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and buy a new audio interface. :( Or you can downgrade to W...

Re: Intermittent popping noises on instrument input... can't figure out the source!

1. There's a Windows file called WDF01000.sys that has caused BSOD errors on my system in the past, and when I ran the LatencyMon utility, it said that WDF01000.sys was the file causing the longest measured latencies (the latency measured at 0.7ms)... That particular file error points to a lot of p...

Try LatencyMon, a free utility that can identify what task(s) are running and causing your problems:

Re: Steinberg UR242 and Mixcraft.

Yes, the Basic suite. On reading your reply, I gather I could use it on both computers by loading the licence to a USB and taking it to the laptop. It would then be only possible to use the Suite while the stick is plugged in either computer? First let's clarify what you mean by "USB". If...

Re: Steinberg UR242 and Mixcraft.

On a slightly different issue, the 242 is installed on my studio desktop, but I would also like it on my Toshiba notebook for ''on the road'' recordings, but when I tried to licence it, it says it has already been done, and wont allow a second licence. I would have thought it could be installed on ...

Re: Can I take individual tracks from my Tascam analog multitrack recorder and add to Mixcraft 8

If you only have the mixed down stereo tracks, then practically speaking -- no, you can't extract the individual tracks. But if you have tapes of the four recorded tracks still separate and intact (prior to getting mixed down), then yes, you can transfer them to Mixcraft (or any DAW), by connecting ...

Re: Steinberg UR242 and Mixcraft.

Yup, always download the latest drivers. There's no way to know how old the drivers on the included disc are and what issues have been fixed since.... Also a good idea to check the firmware (if your device has updateable firmware). Usually, this must be updated first before the drivers. When in doub...

Steinberg makes an ASIO Multi-Client Wrapper. I've never tried it, but it might be worth a look:

Just curious, what do you have against Yamaha workstations? (Casio I can understand).
