Save project default.

Postby ron-e-g » Fri Aug 26, 2016 1:27 pm

So... I guess I forgot how to set the default folder location in MC7. Lately, my saved projects are going on my desktop instead of my normal preferred folder/drive.

Hi,

Go into Preferences and select the Recording preferences. The Default Project Folder setting determines the folder inside which your project folders will be created.

By default, it would be something like this:

C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Mixcraft Projects\

Except you'd replace the "USERNAME" part with your own Windows user name.

It might be worth checking the project tab and see what it says there?

OK... so weird! It's back to working properly. Don't understand it, but it's fine now.
Thank You, Greg, and Pete both.

The project is being created in the proper spot, but when you choose Save As, you may need to browse to that location.

By the way, I don't know if that is actually a Windows system folder on your F: drive, but saving inside a Windows Program Files folder can cause problems due to Windows security features. There may be write permission issues, and the virtualization security feature can make it hard to find files later.

Long story short, that's why we put the projects in your User folder instead.
