My current "lower end" machine is i5 8g and an ssd, and I am often finding myself wishing for a little more performance capacity even on modest mixing projects. Not that you cant
work with less....
And having experienced the improvement of an ssd, I cant imagine going back!
Ive been looking around at desktop systems to replace my W7 box (that has never worked out for me), and am surprised how much prices have come down on some upper-mid range performance combinations.
While I admit gear lust for an i7 32g ssd+hd configuration.....
Price wise an upper-end i5 16g ssd combination looks pretty attractive to this economy minded hobbyist. Leaves a little left over for the interface upgrade I wish for i guess
