vst PROBLEMS

Postby guitbuddy » Sun Jul 14, 2019 12:33 pm

Hello,

'Having major problems with plugins.

the first red flag seems to be: Where is this folder ?

C:\Program Files\VSTPlugIns

Windows sees it, Mixcraft 8 doesnt seem to SEE it.

{ on a side note, why cant the programmers make an EASY TO READ LARGE BOX window. Instead of having to peer into that tiny window, circa windows ME ?]

2 { why cant we type in a folder location ? , rather having to SCROLL through entire lists - --circa windows ME }

thanks

Hi!
Open Mixcraft and go to preferences (the gear icon). Last item in the left column is 'Plugins'. If you click 'Re-scan all VST Plugins', that should do the trick. If not, you can manually enter by clicking the button above that 'Edit VST/VSTi Folders'
Hope this helps!
Keep on trackin'

thanks for reply,

but NO that doesnt help. I know all that: hence my posts about tiny windows, and scrolling circa
windows ME.

To add: mixcraft mainly crashes when running those functions.

Have you tried looking in C:Program files (x86)\VST\ or C:Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins\

I’ve had issues with various VST’s. Sometimes it helps to simply copy the *dll* file directly to the 3rd party VST folder in MixCraft.

Sqk
Yamaha MOXF6, Roland Juno-Di, Casio MZX-500, Roland RS-70, M-Audio Venom, M-Audio Hammer-88, Casio PX-330, Behringer Studio Monitors, Mixcraft 8 Pro, Fujitsu T901 (i5, 8GB Ram, 64-bit, SSD), Lots of VST’s :-)

Try closing Mixcraft and restarting it with "Run as Administrator". Then do the VST rescan.

What plug-ins specifically?
32 or 64 bit OS?
32 or 64 bit DAW?
Etc. (In other words, more info might help people help you. Being vague doesnt help.)

Also, if it is related to your other post on Waves plug ins, see my reply there.
Stay in tune, Mark

Hi,

If scanning for plugins gives you grief, don't do it. Just click "Edit VST/VSTi Folders" and add the VST folder in question.

If that folder is already there, then we have more questions.

I don't recommend copying plugin DLL files to new location. Complex DLLs have multiple files and folders and you can cause plugin problems by doing that. If the plugin has an installer, just install it, make a note of which VST folder its VST files went into, and make sure Mixcraft is searching that folder. I also don't recommend putting third-party plugins into Mixcraft's Program Files folder. It's better to put them in one of these:

C:\Program Files\VST\
C:\Program Files (x86)\VST\

Edited to add:

Or this for that matter: C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTplugins\
