Looking For Some Advice From The Pros

Postby Scythe » Sun Aug 18, 2019 7:54 am

Hey guys
sorry this is not associated with MX except that I use MX exclusively to do all my work so this one will also be on MX + i've got nowhere else to go to ask lol

I'm looking for rates on a recorded vocal about 60 seconds long
One quote for solo and separate quote for the same vocal with upto 3 harmonies.

What would any of you charge for that?
The gig asks me for a royalty free recording clip
No overheads (singer hire or studio cost) as I can lay down high quality vocal lines no probs.and using MX8 pro in my home studio.

Dead line by this wed. 21st Aug.

how much would any of you legends quote?
please reply ASAP if you can - I need to give quote ASAP
ty ty in advance :D

If it was for a GOOD friend I’d do it for free, otherwise I would change an hourly fee,.. You have no idea how long it might take them to be happy with their vocal takes.

does $45 for solo and $60 for harmonies (3 part) with maximum of 2 revisions sound OK or is that too much to charge for a project like this?
Both prices total fees

Professional recording studio rates very... Pick a rate that you’re happy with... but remember, depending on the client a 60 second recording could take many hours.

PS: The last thing you want is an unhappy client.

ty for taking the time to help out - very much appreciated.
Since I'm laying down the vox myself, I feel I can wrap this one up within the hour - client wants unmixed takes.
I feel ok with £35 solo and £50 with harmos - hope I'm not cutting their purse lol
