lol @ requiring iLok for trials. Amazing how some companies seem intent on alienating their potential paying customer base.
Don't even get me started on frigging waves and their f***king DRM. I had a pair of computer breakdowns a few months apart requiring me to replace the motherboard twice (turns out I had a Judas of a powersuply that was sending some crazy spikes), and their license recovery system informed me that the license can only be recovered once per year and I wasn't permitted to recover my license till april next year. Somewhere between siccing the ACCC (Australian govt department that enforces warranty laws/unfair contract terms/etc), basically running a guerilla bad pr campaign about it on facebook and constant daily emails they finally relented after a month and a half and "granted" me the right to the $2K+ worth of product I already own again.
As a software engineer, these people and their goddamn abusive DRM are the reason we're plagued with pirates (and I should note, pirates pretty much killed my last company and theres STILL sites *selling* my albums cheaper than I sell them on iTunes). I was very tempted to just hit up the torrent sites and get me the damn thing from there, something I've so far never done.
