New vocal video playlist

Postby Ian Craig » Fri Mar 01, 2019 8:56 am

Hi all,

I've just created a playlist for vocal based videos I've done recently. I have recorded the raw video for about 6 today, I've made 3 videos so far from the raw data, I just need to work on the other 3. I shall be updating this playlist as I add more videos. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzsTRmdI8oxR4yVPm2yM9hE9jjuto8NCT

Okay, some live stuff improvising using a Thorn 1.2 Virtual Instrument sound which I constructed using it's 3 Oscillator (sounds) made of Wavetables I drew (wavetables - snapshots of soundshapes which are passed through one after the other to create a changing tonal sound), each passed through further tonal shapes, very slowly (once every 16 beats), then passed through filters and an FX section. So 3 layers of slowly changing sounds being used as the instrument with me improvising the note patterns. (I think it gets good after about 7 minutes or so, so you could skip forward to there if you wish). (text copied from my Facebook post). I won't start a fresh thread in case it upsets anybody :D

Evening,

Wow! If I could make patches like that, I'd never leave the house! :D

Great sound, very rich but not clashy, if that makes sense.

Thanks :D Yeah, that makes sense. I admit I did a small amount of mastering the sound after recording i.e. dynamic EQ reduction around the 3khz range to get rid of a screech frequency, but I could have included that in a live stage setup too, if I'd noticed it before hand. It's a typical problem range in audio especially with multi-octave frequency ranges involving oscillators using dynamic prime number frequency dividers as this synthesis setup did. :)
