If it's just Stop/Play/Record you're after, why not try the computer keyboard (with a usb extension cable if necessary)

Re: remote foot trigger for recording
Someone from Acoustica will have to address how the midi works in M6 As for the FCB1010, the 1 through 10 pedals only change presets The two TCB1010 expression pedals can send midi signals If you have a FCB1010 with the UNO chip, then 5 of the pedals become stomp boxes You can send midi notes on the...

Re: remote foot trigger for recording
Maybe you can if your machine listens for midi signals The foot pedals in this post are USB pedals that send keyboard keystrokes So they can send whatever keyboard key it takes to run software like Mixcraft I use two Behringer FCB1010 midi boards to control Guitar Rig and other Midi devices http://w...

Re: remote foot trigger for recording
The USB foot pedal I made has 4 buttons and I can control recording and other functions in Mixcraft I could have added a bunch more buttons if I wanted since the USB guts are a USB keyboard More info about that project here http://www.el34world.com/Misc/Music/USBFootSwitch1.htm http://www.el34world....

Re: Tips for direct recording electric guitar
I dont fully grasp the advantage of 3 soundcards I explained the 3 cards in several post here already. when you use ASIO drivers for a sound card, that card cannot be used for another application Guitar rig and Mixcraft both have to have their own sound card because I am using ASIO drivers the moth...

Re: Tips for direct recording electric guitar
The loss of the resonse and reaction of a speaker re-energizing the strings, yeah thats just somethig we have to deal with if we want to record direct I am recording in front of speakers and do get string resinance and feedback. I don't use headphones. This is the reason I use 3 sound cards Soundca...

Re: Tips for direct recording electric guitar
Not in a long time.
I have a nice Tacoma road king acoustic, but I hardly ever play it.
Recoding that would require a mic for sure

Re: Tips for direct recording electric guitar
LOl, the 100 watt amp is not cranked
I use 100 watt stereo PA amp so the sound is clean and not colored
It's just a power amp, all the tones come from whatever sources is being played
The speakers are home 6 way 150 watt, 18 inch woofer pioneers
I have those set to dead flat also

Re: Tips for direct recording electric guitar
My setup goes like this I record the exact tone I am listening to through speakers. I don't record a dry track and then add VST effects I sometimes have 20+ guitar tracks in Mixcraft including bass tracks that I am using guitar rig on Some of the tracks are just fills and special effects Not all 20 ...

Re: Tips for direct recording electric guitar
Yes, mic'd tube amps sound awesome, but I record direct because there's no way I can mic up my tube amps and record them. I don't have a quiet studio. Dogs, computers, air conditioners, phones, etc Things rattle everywhere in my shop when I crank up a tube amp and cabinet I can't play at the volumes...

Re: Tips for direct recording electric guitar
A shorter version of the question is, "how to capture more soul when recording direct?" I don't know, do any of the tunes on my sound page sound ok to you? Let me know and I can tell you how I recorded that tune. record a short guitar clip with one of your best pre-sets in guitar rig and ...
