Perfect Greg, that's what I was looking for! Kinda figured as much, but I hate to assume anything
Thank You!

Re: MX - Read writes / memory / SSD
Hi, See the "Default Project Folder" setting in Project preferences for Mixcraft 10 (or Recording preferences for Mixcraft 9). If you change that setting, make sure you choose a valid, writeable folder. Greg Thanks Greg, I should clarify my question. During the actual recording takes, but...

MX - Read writes / memory / SSD
Can anyone enlighten me to the read writes of mixcraft, or any DAW for that matter? I don't fully understand "where" my clips and all the overdubs are at while recording. In RAM? (I do know when I save - obviously that is a write to drive). Reason for asking - I am upgrading my main SSD (c...

Re: Muted vocal track / Melodyne?
Hi. Are you hitting 'Finalize' after editing in Melodyne? Melodyne.png Thanks Trevs. I never used finalize before, and this is the first time I ran into "muted" VOX. Now that I think back, I'll bet I hit it at some point. If so would this muting possibly be the result? I believe if I unde...

Muted vocal track / Melodyne?
Hi all, this has got to be user fail but I give up finding it. Have a VOX track, when I apply Melodyne, the track mutes. It still shows the wave, just no sound. I looked everywhere in Melodyne but have not found a "mute" setting to uncheck. If I remove Melodyne, the track plays. Re-apply m...

Import a template or track group into a different song?
Hi all, not sure if this is possible? I want to save a "group" of presets into a template or separate ".mx10" file, then import or merge that into an existing song when I need it. Example: 5 tracks saved as a template, with 5 different plugins pre-loaded IE piano, piano w/strings...

[SOLVED] MX10 "freezing" on screen but still playing?
Seems that I have nailed this down to the "freezing" or "jumping" only happens when I have a midi clip open for editing, especially on my second monitor and that clip is pretty long where much of it is grayed out. I was able to make this happen in another song as well. Example wo...

Re: BBC Orchestra - free vs core / pro for multi track
My issues are usually with EastWest libraries. Have never had problems with Spitfire Audio and have tried to avoid buying their libraries that run in Kontakt, though not always possible. Are you saying you don't use the Windows VST3 folder? Never tried E-W, but heard good things. So much stuff! I d...

Re: BBC Orchestra - free vs core / pro for multi track
All of my VST's run off from a secondary internal SSD. 2 TB, about 40% full. Main drive is 1TB SSD. Libraries are setup by vendor, IE "Spitfire Libraries", Kontakt Libraries", Indiginus libraries, etc, where each folder contains the actual VST (s) from that vendor. Backups are done to...

[SOLVED] MX10 "freezing" on screen but still playing?
Hi all, Working on a sketch song in MX10 B470 - EDIT CORRECTION B579 - with Spitfire BBCSO (free) on about 25 tracks. It started with a template having 48 tracks setup, but I have since deleted the unused tracks in a new save. The VST is open on each track, however each is set to a different instrum...

Re: BBC Orchestra - free vs core / pro for multi track
Hey Mr.Mxyzptlk, That template is up to about 48 tracks for now. On my first usage of it I am up to 22 tracks, it runs good but I will be starting a separate thread about a hiccup. To answer your question, it took me about an hour to set it up initially, now still tweaking with colors and submix pan...

Re: User fail - forgot to set the correct key, midi tracks are transposed
Thanks Trevor! I tried that and many variations of it (like clip by clip, track by track, or selecting multiple clips) after your suggestion, but my clips are still all over the place. After "Use Project Key", the keyboard on the screen does not match up with the notes on the grid. I think...

User fail - forgot to set the correct key, midi tracks are transposed
Hi all, wow did I learn a valuable lesson! Forgot to set the key to the correct key when setting up a new song, then ran 17 midi instruments. The key was set to A, however I played everything in C, which was the key I needed. Once I realized what I did, I selected all the clips, transposed +3, then ...

Re: BBC Orchestra - free vs core / pro for multi track
Thanks Greg! I have used that trick, it works very well. I wish I could get Spitfire to route out that way! So far things are working out, I have recorded about 16 tracks with Spitfire on each track and it is running at about 10% (at peaks) of processor. Prolly will mix it down to a stem or separate...
