At Greg's suggestion I reinstalled mixcraft which automatically upgraded to 7.5
Reran Norton and quick scan did not flag the file this time. Maybe Norton addressed false positive issue?
Glad that is behind me! Thanks Greg. Sorry my mood was sour, you were very patient with me.

Re: Do I need special speakers to work with Mixcraft???
Thanks for all the replies guys. I took everything into consideration, but I ended up going with these; http://www.ebay.com/itm/391053795763? I read some really good stuff about them from a few different websites. I am really worried about one aspect of them now though, didn't think about it when I...

Re: Odd noise at start of mp3 mixdowns
Hi, MP3 files make terrible loops. This is because the MP3 format allows for other data in the header of the audio file. This is why Mixcraft comes with Ogg Vorbis loops. Your best bet for loops are WAV files if file size isn't a concern or Ogg or WMA if you want compressed files. Greg I've been ex...

Re: Do I need special speakers to work with Mixcraft???
Ok, I am not sure exactly about all this balanced unbalanced stuff. Anyways, I found these on ebay and Amazon had good reviews from people, so I am thinking about going with these. I know they are far from the best, but Amazon's reviews were really good and I ain't got much money. So just to make s...

Re: Adding FX to only the selected portion of a track
Good food for thought- much to learn. The concept of a send track is new to me, and I'm excited to research this and learn more.chibear wrote:Use a Send Track with only that fx on it and apply it where you want from there......or what outeh says.
Thanks!

Re: Odd noise at start of mp3 mixdowns
Eureka! It WAS the loop setting. When I disengage this, the mp3 mixed down normally.
This seems to be a bug- but it is easily avoidable now that I know what to do.

Re: Odd noise at start of mp3 mixdowns
Problems does not replicate when mixing down to wav, by the way. How do you know this? ... ) I know because I can hear it when I make mp3 files, but I cannot hear it when I use the exact same mixcraft project and make wav files. In hindsight, the sound it pretty much identical to the last second of...

Adding FX to only the selected portion of a track
Say I just want to put reverb on a part of a track. Can I highlight that portion and add the fx to that part of the track only? Can't seem to figure out how to accomplish. If no- what's the workaroud? Cut and paste to a new track and add the fx on that part? Seems awkward. Hoping for a more elegant ...
