Re: Old Love (Clapton cover)

Hi Tom,
I've been away from the forums for a while, but came across this tune this morning. Really nice work! Strong mix, and just the right amount of reverb gives it an almost "live" feel. Kudos for the subtle string backgrounds!Really enjoyed it.. :D 8) Rick.

Re: Merry Christmas

Thanks Tom!

A very Merry Christmas to you and yours as well! Compliments on the Jason Mraz cover— made for nice moment for me.... One of my wife’s favorite tunes, and while I was playing it on the “house” stereo, Deena was in the kitchen singing the lyrics....sweet! Best for the New Year, Rick.

Re: Headphones for mixing

I'll have to give Starship Krupa a second thumbs up on the Samson SR850's. I bought a pair last winter for about 35 bucks, and find they work well for me for mixing, with what I consider a fairly flat response. Certainly no hyped bass response. If anything, they're a bit strong in the mid to high ra...

Definitely agree with "outteh"-- really fine orchestration. Will wait to hear the final version with vocals. Nice work! Rick.

Re: Season Of The Witch (Cover)

Hi Tom-- Ahhh, another trip back through the years. I remember, of course the original Donovan version, and the "Super Session" version of Kooper, Bloomfield, and Stills...1968, if my addled memory serves. That album was played to death in the hippy-dippy group house that I lived in at the...

Re: How about a little Doobie

Howdy Tom, I've been away from the forums and Mixcraft for a while-- it's good to see you back. I've been enjoying the multiple trips down memory lane! I've just noticed a similarity to your voice with Lou Reed's(this is a good thing)-- don't know if you were ever a fan, but have you ever considered...

Lovely! Having expressed your fondnesss for cake, I think you deserve an extra slice for this one! I listened repeatedly, and enjoyed everything about it-- lyrics, sentiment, fine guitar work and vocals, and beautifully smooth mix. Many thanks for sharing this with us. Rick. The video is also pleasa...

Re: Question- new to loop-mode...

Hi Greg, As always, thanks for the response. I was in the wrong place for the overdub settings, got that all straightened out. As for the second part of my question-- seems I was temporarily infatuated with some of the live looping I see on youtube-- that has passed. On further research, I've learne...

Question- new to loop-mode...

Hello all, Recently started playing with loop mode, so, 2 questions. I'm not using supplied MC loops, but recording my own. When I first started playing with it, I set up a 12 measure loop with virtual piano, and when the loop restarted, I could still hear the first loop to play along with. For some...

Sounds pretty darn good to me! I like the orchestration, and to my ears, balance between vocal/instrumentation is right on. Congratulations! Rick

Hi Dave,

I really enjoyed this track-- smooth and calming. Yeah, maybe a little strong on the sax? The rest sounds good to me, I like the synth work. Thanks, Rick. 8)
