Re: Free VSTi virtual instrument recommendation list

IK Multimedia finally released a free version of Sampletank 4, and I've played around with it and it's far superior to the free version of Sampletank 3, which used to crash Mixcraft, so I never mentioned it here. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st4cs/ It has a really nice grand piano and a who...

Re: What are you using for a filter plugin?

For meat-and-potatoes EQ, my favorite is still MEQualizer from the Meldaproduction Free Bundle, and for "creative" filtering, you would be doing yourself a favor to check out MComb and MBandpass in the same bundle. There are Meldaproduction just got done with a 50% off everything sale, which include...

Re: AAS VST3 instruments freeze on load -fixed

I swear, you all never cease to amaze me.

I'm about to tag and bag what I think is my first crasher of the Mixcraft 9 cycle and between finding the error and checking it on a second system, I install the next build, and b439 cures the problem.

So....never mind.

AAS VST3 instruments freeze on load -fixed

In the title, b438. I just downloaded the latest AAS player from Applied Acoustics site (with their free Swatches collection, which updates the player to v 1.38) and gave it a test run with both VST2 and VST3. https://www.applied-acoustics.com/swatches/ Worked a treat with VST2, but the VST3 version...

Re: Build 434 is the one!

Okay, I got the same thing on my second system, but I also notice that it's the same way for Mixcraft 8. Why does the installer ask me to choose a Start Menu folder location for the program shortcuts if it's just going to put a shortcut in there to the help file and then place the one to the actual ...

Re: Mixer question "Mid 1 Mid 2" vs. "HiMid LoMid"

I have done so, good sir. I hope the devs agree that it's more descriptive. Looks like there's room for the extra character.

Re: Build 434 is the one!

Oakhurst, we've had a problem. On my first system, I just did an uninstall using the Windows 10 Settings uninstaller, then ran the 434 installer with the settings I always use. When I'm installing betas, I append "Beta" to the end of the install location string so that I can do a fresh install of th...

Mixer question "Mid 1 Mid 2" vs. "HiMid LoMid"

A question, relevant to the Mixer: Given that the order of the parametric bands is top to bottom, why are the upper mids labeled "Mid2" and the lower mids labeled "Mid1?" Is this a convention taken from a hardware EQ or other plug-in(s) that the strip EQ is modeled after? I ask because of course I'm...

Re: Sound tab question

In Mixcraft 8, I would adjust the loop markers, then hit Ctrl+W to get "Mix to New Clip." This would give me a new clip that matches the loop points on the sound tab. It's not working that way in Mixcraft 9, and I think that's definitely a bug. What's the bug number on the one you filed? I'm having...

Should we be doing explicit uninstalls rather than letting the installer handle it?

Re: Micro fades?

I slip-edited the "Kick" track in "The Easy Ones" so that it would have a nice big click in it, then went down to the Sound Tab and toggled the blue triangle on and off and it made no audible difference.

What's my next step?

(one thing I noticed: that clip is normalized)

Sound tab question

I'm trying to get more understanding of something that I originally entered as a bug. Now I'm not 100% sure if it is one, and if it is, I think I can characterize it better or maybe turn it into an enhancement request. The feature is the Sound Tab, when using it to edit an audio clip. There are thre...

Re: Some MX9 Impressions, Suggestions and Ideas.

Mark, you are voicing (typing?) pretty much my sentiments about the new mixer. It's a huge step forward. I've been spending some time with Cakewalk, whose console view I find particularly excellent, and the new MX9 reminds me of it, with its ProChannel FX modules. On the cons side, what you said abo...

Yes. One of mine, and Mark heartily agreed, as you can see :) :

Re: Micro fades?

Cool!

I also just now noticed that it's available from the right click context menu, under Properties.

The little triangle indicators to show that the clip has been micro-faded are fab. Really nice touch.

(now if we could get a keystroke for it....)
