Re: A Question of Workflow ?
Ok, understood No, there is no way of doing it in MC but here's how I would 'force' MC to do it. Use a separate track for each pattern and place all the tracks in a subgroup. Any required FX and processing can be added to the subgroup rather than the individual tracks. Now you can see that it is al...

Re: A Question of Workflow ?
In some DAWs, you can make copies of a clip that are updated automatically whenever the original is updated. Is this what you are talking about? If so, then I haven't learned how you can do it in Mixcraft. Yes, that is what I was referring to. I suppose each DAW has their own take, but DAWs that of...

Re: A Question of Workflow ?
...however if you want to make a minor change in one or more (which is the very essence of song writing) you would have to hunt each instance down to make the changes... Unless I'm misunderstanding you, hunting each instance down is part of the process anyway, otherwise how would you know where you...

Re: A Question of Workflow ?
It's easier than you think, and you're looking in the wrong places :-) Just double click inside a virtual track to create a new, blank midi clip. Then go to the piano roll and enter your notes. Thanks for jumping in Eric. I think you're talking about creating one singular midi clip. I was referring...

A Question of Workflow ?
When it comes to drum and keyboard tracks I prefer to work in sections or patterns. Similar to EZDrummer 2 and many other popular apps. I can't though seem to find how this is done in Mixcraft. Is it that Mixcraft just doesn't offer this type of workflow ? And if so, I'm curious as to how others her...

Acoustica Greg wrote:Hi,
The specs make it sound like it should work, but I haven't had any feedback from people running Mixcraft on one of those.
But you should definitely upgrade to Mixcraft 8.
Greg
Thanks Greg, but Mixcraft 8 didn't have much of what I was looking for.

What is the bare minimum needed to run M7 ?
Looking over some PC Sticks I was wondering how close we are to running M7 on one of the better versions. What would be the bare minimum needed ? And of course we're not talking about running 20 tracks with multiple vsts open, but maybe working on a midi drum track with a few frozen audio tracks or ...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!
I think a dedicated arrangement window would be a great addition to Mixcraft. Perhaps something similar to FLStudio's and Hydrogen Drum's arrangement window, or EZDrummers 'song creator'. Being able to write out parts in the 'step editor/piano roll' and then drag and drop them from a list to an arra...

Personally I search youtube frequently for M7 tutorials and find I have to wade through all these annoying 'cracked videos' before I can come across anything worthwhile.

Re: Triggering The Performance Panel
Hi, No, but you could record a performance panel performance in the main track area by arming the performance panel. So, you could listen the tracks that you would want to trigger the performance panel, manually trigger the performance panel and record that. Greg Thanks Greg ! Hopefully they will a...

Triggering The Performance Panel
Is there a way to trigger the performance panel to move from one grid square to the next automatically as opposed to manually ? For example, if one placed midi clips in rows 1 - 10 on the same track of the PP could you then set M7 to move sequentially 1, 2, 3. ... 10 without having to manually trigg...

Thanks Greg, I do hope Acoustica consider adding this feature to the step editor section.
Considering the popularity of Beatcraft this will be a very welcome addition !

Beatcraft Style Pattern Based Sequencing In M7 ??
Is it possible to do pattern based sequencing such as Beatcraft, Hydrogen, FLStudio, EZDrummer ect in M7 ? I see the Step Editor where one can write the individual patterns, but there doesn't seem to be any way to string them together - or more importantly store them first - to create a full arrange...

Re: VST to generate harmony from midi
Sorry for not being clear. What I do is play the melody on my midi keyboard. Usually assign an instrument like a sax to that. Then if the harmony is intuitive I'll play in on another track assigning maybe a different brass instrument In this case the harmonies are tough to pick out. So I thought ma...

Re: What components are most relevant to performance
There are a few of these guys out there, great laptops! You can buy a less expensive one and do add ons like ram and ssd later. There are other companies that offer similar so I'd suggest looking around and finding one that's what you may want. I'm not sure if it's doable but one of these companies...
