Re: Audio files force CPU to 30%

I had the Mixcraft sound library (open book symbol) selected in the Library tab. I tried selecting the Local Folder, FreeSounds, and Favorite elements. The results are: i7 system: Mixcraft library and Local Folder (folder symbol) elements selected cause increase cpu use, FreeSounds and Favorites ele...

Re: Audio files force CPU to 30%

I did some more testing and found that increased cpu use when playing an audio clip in Mixcraft 9 occurs only if the Details pane is undocked AND the Library tab is selected. Selecting the Project, Sound, or Mixer tab eliminates the high cpu use during playback. Once again, this is in a new Mixcraft...

Re: Audio files force CPU to 30%

Can you replicate my observations? Can other readers replicate this problem?

For what it is worth, Mixcraft 8.1, build 418 does not show this effect when run on the same computer.

Re: Audio files force CPU to 30%

I noticed what Don’t B Flat describes when working on a project a few days ago. I have taken some time to look further into the matter. I am using Mixcraft 9 Pro, build 452 on two computers: 1. i7 cpu desktop with 16 GB ram, two monitors, NVidia graphics card, Scarlett 2i2 2nd generation audio inter...

Re: Plugin TB MultiFX seems wonky - seeking advice

Thank you for your response. Increasing the Wet Out value above 0%, the default value, resolved my problem with no apparent effect when changing other values such as HPF frequency when the default preset is selected. A clear case of operator error. Mea culpa. With respect to my observation on the Au...

Plugin TB MultiFX seems wonky - seeking advice

I've been trying out the new plugins in Mixcraft 9 and have run into some peculiarities with the TB MultiFX plugin. When I load TB MultiFX onto a track, with the "default" preset, NONE of the knobs do anything. I can turn them all, and the values change, but no change whatsoever to the sound. If I s...

Re: Not all audio Daws sound the same ...

This is a topic where science may help. A few years ago, I generated two WAV audio files at 44.1 kHz sample rate using Audacity. I used these audio files to assess various equalizer VSTs in Mixcraft. The audio files are: 1. White noise 2 A series of sine tones at 50, 100, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 2...

Re: Potential problem with instrument GUIs in version 415

I downloaded and tested Build 418.

All GUIs that I tested work perfectly. It seems that the problem is fixed.

Thanks to the Acoustica team for their persistence. I'm sure this bug was frustrating for them.

Re: Potential problem with instrument GUIs in version 415

I have good news and bad news. I downloaded Build 417 and tested GUIs with the sidechain window. They now work perfectly! However, I decided to check regular GUIs to see if perhaps all of the fussing around had an effect where before none was noted. Unfortunately, this is the case as shown in the fi...

Re: Potential problem with instrument GUIs in version 415

I downloaded and tried out Build 416. The two problems noted in my original post: 1. GUI has bottom cut off upon opening first time 2. GUI has more and more of the bottom cutoff on subsequent openings Have been fixed. This is very good news. However, there is still a problem. Now, when the GUI is cl...

Potential problem with instrument GUIs in version 415

I just updated to Mixcraft 8.1 version 415. I have noticed that the GUIs of two VSTs have unwanted effects from this update. Please see the graphic below. Both of the VSTs are AIR products, Hybrid and XPand!2. The addition of the sidechain window at the top, not seen in earlier versions of Mixcraft ...

Re: Cthulhu

Perhaps I can clarify musicuser99's problem. When using an arpeggiator with Mixcraft, the arpeggiator VST is placed before the instrument VST in the Instruments List. Mixcraft recognizes the arpeggiator VST for what it is and configures the MIDI routing so that the MIDI data routes serially first to...

Re: Recording internal MIDI from an Arpeggiator

You can try midiMonitor as suggested in my post on Tips and Tricks.

https://forums.acoustica.com/bbs/viewto ... 12&t=23429

Its a two step process, but I have not noted delays such as those present in loop back approaches.

Alternative Method for Recording MIDI Data from an Arpeggiator

Typically, when the subject of recording MIDI from an arpeggiator or chord generator comes up, the recommendation is to use LoopBE or LoopMIDI to route the MIDI data generated on the track with an arpeggiator or chord generator to a second track of Mixcraft where it is recorded. An alternative is to...

Re: Dead Duck Software Free FX and Instruments

I have been reviewing the DD Compressor as it is the only native sidechaining compressor I have found that is both free and available in 32 and 64 bit VSTs. I have found the following: a. Works in Mixcraft 32 bit and 64 bit versions, build 405. b. Attack times from 0.1 msec to 200 msec c. Release ti...
