Re: Mixcraft 8 video playback not working **Please Help!!!**

I have the same problem but only with the 32 bit version of Mixcraft. The video playback of the 64 bit version works fine for me.
I guess this has to do with some 32 bit video-codec not working properly on my 64 bit machine.
If you have a 64 bit computer, try installing the 64 bit version.

Re: Video preview not working

I had the same problem with both Mixcraft versions in the 32 bit mode. I reported it and got no better answer than to keep the direct show up to date. I did so, but that did not help. Since I prefer the 64 bit versions anyway, I gave up on it since the developers solved a problem with the 32-bit-VST...

Re: Tracks longer than music

We were all talking about the end of the song....my audioeditor/masteringsoftware (which is a six year old cheapo from Magix) is intelligent enough to see if the silence is midway through the song or at the end. Mixcraft has a distinct mastersection and comes with plugins for mastering purposes, so ...

Re: Tracks longer than music

Mixcraft indeed doesn't care about wether there's audio listenable in the mastertrack or not concerning the length of rendered audio. Even if the audiolevel-lane in the mastertrack cuts the reverbtail, Mixcraft produces a file with the same length as if the reverb was not muted by the mastervolume. ...

Re: Quick opinion if possible?

You don't need a special plugin to get the "warmth" of a vinyl recording. Just make sure your tracks (especially drums and bass) are all heavily compressed with an analog style compressor plugin (take Ringo's drums on Abbey Road as an example). Cut the frequencies below 40 Hz and above 15 ...

Re: Nightlife Issues

Thank you Ian and Mark for heading up, I really thought I'm the only one with this issue.
To Greg: Yes, all affected VSTs are 32 bit, never had a problem with 64 bit plugs.

Re: Nightlife Issues

At last there is one other case where this new alert box concerning a crashing plugin is coming up with the plugin getting shut off. I have this issue with several effect VSTs (eg. all the Modern Plugins and Variety Of Sound plugins) with my two Intel Core 2 computers in 64 bit Mixcraft 8 (not in 64...

Re: Build 378 patches are on the beta page

Hooray for implementing the solo-feature in Build 378. Now I think Mixcraft works the way it should...nearly, because Transpod Dan is right, unsoloing one of two or more soloed tracks inside the submix unsolos the parent track, which is odd and unlogical and brings us back to the old behaviour. But ...

Re: MC 8 Submix Solo Bug

It gets a bit philosophical here... What are submixes for: to house in 24 pretty girls singing "ooooh", make a decent mix, put a good portion of reverb on them and forget about them until the final mix. What is a solo-button for: to find the one girl that constantly is out of tune in every...

Re: MC 8 Submix Solo Bug

aj113 is quit right (with the behaviour of Mixcraft, not with not wanting to use it because you have to hit an extra button). You don't need to go into nested submixes, a simple submix will do. If you hit the solo-button of a track inside a submix, the rest outside the submix keeps noodling on. You ...

Re: New MIDI Note Clobbering

I watched your video, tested it myself on Mixcraft 8, and I can see your point, Mark. Mixcraft behaves inconsequent, either it should clobber all notes which are under the new note or none. At the moment it clobbers only the last note in line when another note gets in its boundaries. To be frank, I ...

Re: Send tracks in submixes?

The arpeggiator will only work in this way if it installs as VSti (aka Virtual instrument). Even then you can not grab the outcoming events for further editing. If it installs as VST (aka effect) I see no way to route it to a synth. Jam Origin Midi Guitar installs as effect and needs audio input fro...

Re: Send tracks in submixes?

But it can not route the midi output (!) of a track to another one. The output of effects which generate midi events like several arpeggiators or the Jam Origin MIDI Guitar can not be routed to miditracks to record them - or am I getting something wrong?

Re: Send tracks in submixes?

I don't quite see the point of this way of routing. The task you described (parallel compression of a drumtrack inside a submix) is easy to achieve by just duplicating the audio in another track inside the submix, compress one of the tracks and leave the other alone. You have full control over the a...
