New acoustic guitar album / open tunings
I just finished a 14 song all-acoustic guitar album. I used a bunch of different open tunings. Mixcraft made this very easy and a pleasing experience. All songs are original with some interesting modal stuff. The plug ins I used were all included with Mixcraft 9. I use effects sparingly, don't like ...

AKAI MPD26 USB pad controller help
I am thinking of getting a pad controller, the AKAI MPD26. Does anyone here know how to set this up in Mixcraft? I am using Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio. I tried setting up a similar device a few years ago but Mixcraft couldnt find the device...there was no way to set it up. I want to use this MPD26 basica...

Setting master volume????
I read somewhere about setting your MASTER TRACK (vol) to -6db for final mastering/mix and adjust accordingly. I dont understand this. It was for "headroom" but didnt go into detail. Since I have been using Mixcraft for the last 12 years I have NEVER touched the master volume. So just for kicks I op...

Open tuning EBDGAD acoustic guitars
Here is a selection from a set of different open tuning recordings I had made earlier this year. This tuning in particular was "EBDGAD" which was kind of nice. I used 2 guitar tracks. The rhythm guitar was an old Fender steel string acoustic and the other guitar playing lead was a recently acquired ...

Cinematic type tune
Mixcraft has some cool instruments for orchestrations. I was vacationing up in New Hampshire this past summer. I brought along a small PC with MIDI keyboard. I am always playing around with modes and thought I would try something slightly ominous sounding and tense. I used Mixolydian flat 6 mode and...

A jazz / blues original
I was messing around with some different scales and came across one called "blues". So I thought I would check it out. I used a MIDI keyboard and an electric fretless bass along with a big ol jazz box guitar. Drums done by a friend. I was trying to get a smokey bluesy jazzy vibe. I normally dont pla...

New modal jazz tune
Here is a tune I did while vacationing up in New Hampshire a few weeks ago. I took a small PC and USB keyboard. Thats all I used. I played all instruments. Drums were from Mixcraft as well as the acoustic bass and piano. I used a 3rd party saxophone vst and synth. Song is done in the Locrian #2 mode...

Re: I just finished some musics, any suggestion or tips?
Hi, listening to your tune right now. I like it alot. Very good sound. I made a few "classical" sounding songs myself. Mixing is good, right on. Balance of instruments good too. I could never use ANYTHING from Kontakt because all the links to the FREE PLAYER did not work! Could you steer me in the r...

Re: Which plugin can help you play many scales in Mixcraft?
For a long time while studying modes I used a VERY helpful website https://jguitar.com/scaledictionary.jsp that has a useful dictionary of pretty much all you would need as far as modes/exotic scales. It takes a little work to memorize this stuff and exotic scales are useless unless the chords you a...

Very good music. You play all those songs well and it was very enjoyable listening to them. The "age police" got me too! I write, play and produce all my own material too. Keep up the good work!

Acoustic guitar open tuning album done with MIXCRAFT 8
Here is an album of acoustic guitar music that I did using Mixcraft 8. I used a pair of AKG P170 condenser mics in an X/Y configuration to record each guitar. The mics were aimed at 12th fret at a distance of about 5". I prefer close-miking. I used some of the Mixcraft 8 effects, but lightly cause I...
