Re: MIDI Controller Keyboard Survey
I've got a 61-key M-Audio that I picked up used. There's nothing wrong with it. I'm not a keys player, I'm a drummer, but I did learn the keyboard while in school (people forget that xylophone & marimba are the same layout.) I'm going to look around for an 88-key, preferably weighted or hammer a...

Re: Adding additional midi cymbals...
Look for a used midi K.I.T.I PRO by KAT . It allows 9 trigger inputs + 1 Hi-hat foot controller. I have 4 of them. No sounds, it is strictly a 9 Trigger to MIDI interface so you are using internal sounds. MIDI-kiti_pro.jpg Being a drummer, I have all sorts of this stuff: Ddrum2 ddrum4 Yamaha TMX (Ya...

Multi-Velocity Drum Samples
OK, I'm back - I'm going to buy the upgrade to 8 this week. My questions is regarding Mutli-Velocity drum samples. How do you do this in Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio? If I can get this thing going, I'll be making a ton of samples - they will all be real drums, and not overly processed. I have 2 Sonor sets,...

Re: MIDI to USB Interfaces?
I wound up throwing in the towel and bought a brand new MOTU Midi Express 128. I'll probably have it until the day I die.

Why all the Plugins?
I know this seems kind of crazy, but - how many Plugins do people really need? I have looked through the list of plugins that come with Mixcraft Pro Studio 7, and I'll probably never use half of them, and maybe never actually use 90% of them. So my question is, do people really use all these plugins...

Re: MIXED LOGIC M24 Control Surface.
Well, I wound up buying a brand new MOTU MIDI EXPRESS 128.
Since MIDI is going to be such a large part of the home recording process for me - I figured I might as well just do it.
Still waiting on a Power Supply for the PC Build.

Re: MIXED LOGIC M24 Control Surface.
Awesome! It arrived this morning. This sucker is huge - It's about 45" wide and 18" deep. I have a Korg NanoKontrol and for some idiotic reason - I figured the M24 would be light, but it feels like it weighs about 50lbs. Now I have to get a MIDI Interface since the MIDIMan USB MIDISport 8x...

Re: MIXED LOGIC M24 Control Surface.
And it all may be for nothing. :( I contacted Mixed Logic today, and they had never heard of Mixcraft Pro Studio 7, and had no idea if Mixcraft could even Map all 24 faders of the control surface. they said it may be able to do the first 8, So we shall see. I'll be very disappointed to have to give ...

OK, how do we sample the individual plug in instruments sounds? I guess you would call it "audition" them?
I'm starting to learn the layout.

Re: Studio Drum sounds and VST sounds.
Being a drummer myself, I opted to purchase ezdrummer2. The basic package didn't offer a wide variety of options, but it has stuff adequate for what I am doing, and there are add on packs, as well. And a heads up...if you want Cymbal Sounds, go to Paiste's site. They have samples of every cymbal th...

Re: MIDI to USB Interfaces?
I think I've figured out how to make this work. I'm going to split one of my HD's in two and have a dual boot set up, and run "MPS 7" 64-bit under Windows 7 using 80% of the SSD, and then install Windows 98 on the 20% segment, and use an extremely old MIDI-only program of some type on that...

Re: Studio Drum sounds and VST sounds.
not sure which kit(s) you may be using. the Heavy Metal & Staduim are pretty good. the easiest & fastest way to change the key for me is to do just that-lower the key on that track. there are also "tuned" drums in there so you can use whatever pitch you want. So, if you change the...
