Re: kontakt 5 player

Also for bass I quite like 4front bass which is free. It is limited in itself having no settings but if you run it through one of the Bass amps that come with Mixcraft you can get some very good sounds from it. http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=190 I just downloaded Ample Sound's bass VST whi...

Re: Why does my system sound volume drop when I start Mixcraft?

Hi, Go to your computer manufacturer's web page to see if there are any updated audio drivers in the support/download section. In regard to the other suggestion: 1. Right-click on the small volume control icon in your Windows taskbar. 2. Select Playback Devices. 3. Right-click on your playback devi...

Re: Why does my system sound volume drop when I start Mixcraft?

Hi, This is the first time I've heard of an issue like this. What's your playback device? Examine its properties setting in your Windows audio settings. Also, check and see if there are any updated audio drivers for it. Greg If you've never heard of this, then it's probably a transient issue, parti...

Re: kontakt 5 player

I don't have an answer for you, but I'd like to add my own 2 cents. I'm willing to download and install and use just about any "freeware" VST that is available, however, the free KONTAKT Player from Native Instruments is just too complicated. I did download and try it, but it was just too ...

Why does my system sound volume drop when I start Mixcraft?

For some reason, when I start up Mixcraft, the overall sound volume on my computer lowers considerably. It never used to do this before, and I don't recall doing anything to cause this. However, I am running Windows 10 now, so that's a new environment which could be related to this issue. I've check...

Re: How does a MIDI file know what sound to play?

Based on your question, I think the sounds played when you add a generic MIDI file are what is known as General MIDI (GM). This "library" is a standard set of sounds found within every computer. The MIDI data says use piano, it uses GM piano. Etc. The other part of the question, identifyi...

How does a MIDI file know what sound to play?

When I find a MIDI song on the web and open it in Mixcraft, it separates into different tracks. How does Mixcraft know what sounds (what VST instrument) to play for each of those tracks? How is that information stored? Please explain like I'm a noob at music and software, because I am. :-) Since I'm...
