Re: Mixcraft 6 commandeers old projects.

Hmm, It does not do that on my XP compter. Yeah, it did actually. See in your screen grab? It's asking at the bottom of the pic if you want to restore your miscraft 5 file to the default "mixcraft 6" association. It would appear that even on your computer, mixcraft 6 hijacked mixcraft 5 files. I mi...

Re: Mixcraft 6 commandeers old projects.

Hi, If you like, I could log a feature request for an installer option that would say something like this: "Don't associate older version project files." Greg Well, it's not really whether "I" would like it, it's whether long time users of mixcraft will find themselves stuck moving to version 6. Ma...

Re: Mixcraft 6 commandeers old projects.

@Vibrant Audio, your end result is exactly how my work environment has been working, but I didn't have to do anything to make it work. I remember back in December of 2010 when I first installed 5 on this computer. The file associations didn't change, nor did the icons for the projects because I coul...

Re: Mixcraft 6 commandeers old projects.

No, it hasn't worked that way in the past. I have projects in mixcraft 3, 4 and 5, and all three versions installed. Each project remained associated with it's respective version and when double clicked would open with it's respective version. Installing mixcraft 6 changed all associations and left ...

Re: Mixcraft 6 commandeers old projects.

After uninstalling mixcraft 6, all the projects are still marked as mixcraft 6, although they now open with the software they are supposed to. That's just strange behavior for any program. Why would an uninstalled program leave behind anything vestige of itself?

Re: Mixcraft 6 commandeers old projects.

Yeah I tried that. But here's the problem. I use Mixcraft to do a radio show, that now has literally hundreds of projects in the archive. Until I installed Mixcraft 6, they were all clearly marked as to what program the belonged to. Now, they aren't. I undid my change and I'm hoping that when I unin...

Mixcraft 6 commandeers old projects.

Hey, loving the software so far, but I ran into something disturbing. In the past new versions of Mixcraft did nothing to old projects during installation. Projects from older versions of Mixcraft were easily identifiable by the icon for the version they were created with and you had resave a projec...

RE: Recording in multiple locations...

Hi,

Something that you may not know, when you purchase mixcraft 4, you get codes for Mixcraft 2, 3, and 4. That means you can install these different (but still very usable) versions on different computers for different reasons.

Question about project migration

If I upgrade to Mixcraft 3, what will my current projects sound like? Will they retain all the mix settings and effects that were in Mixcraft 2? Or will there be a change to them. I have a lot of custom reverb settings where I've saved my settings. What will happen to all of them? Also, can I try ou...
