Re: How do you manage VST plugins in Mixcraft

What Mark said. I try to keep two folders - the one that MX sets up with the included plug-ins - and then another that contains the third party ones. But as Mark says, sometimes the install insists on putting them where they want. So what I do is find that folder and move it as a subfolder to my 3r...

Thanks Dan and Mark

I appreciate your answers. Unfortunately there seems to be a spammer attached to my post which is very regrettable. I hope the moderators take the necessary action.

How do you manage VST plugins in Mixcraft

Guys, As a total newbie to Mixcraft 8 I watched all the videos on the official channel and I have learned a lot how to use the program but there is one thing that I am not sure about at present. How do you scan your plugins in Mixcraft? What folder does your plug ins reside in? I have Sonar X3 in my...

Re: Just bought Mixcraft 8 One question

32 bit performs more reliably for me, because I use mostly old/cheap/free 32 bit plugins..... So far. 8) You can install both, or uninstall as desired. No license issues here, your good. Thanks Mark I really appreciate that advice. I think I will install both. I will see how it works out for me usi...

Re: Just bought Mixcraft 8 One question

Thanks for your reply,
Damn it. Should I uninstall Mixcraft and reinstall it with 32 bit?

That wont use one of my licenses will it? I am not sure how installing and reinstalling has any effect on your licenses if any?

I would appreciate more info on this.

Just bought Mixcraft 8 One question

Hi I just bought Mixcraft 8. I had just a quick look around the GUI. It looks very user friendly and very attractive interface. Just one question. During installation it asked me whether to install 32 bit or 64 bit Mixcraft 8 I chose 64 bit as I am running Windows 7 64 bit and I have 8 gigs of RAM a...

Re: Mixcraft 8 or Mixcraft Pro 8?

Hi Greg, Thanks for your reply. Yes I wanted Mixcraft to be the host. Reason would be the slave. The idea is to run Reason devices within Mixcraft. Mixcraft would act as a VST host and as a place to run Ozone and export final mastered mix. Reason can't host VST plug ins which is its greatest weaknes...

Re: Mixcraft 8 or Mixcraft Pro 8?

Thanks for all the replies. I really appreciate the feedback. I think I will get Mixcraft 8 and as Mark Bliss says I can always update to Mixcraft Pro at a later date. As long as I can rewrite Reason 9 into Mixcraft 8 I will be ok for the moment. I can do this can't I? It's not that I can't afford 1...

Mixcraft 8 or Mixcraft Pro 8?

Hey Guys, I have a dilemma. I have decided to buy Mixcraft this week. The only question is do I get Mixcraft 8 or Mixcraft Pro 8. I don't use Loops at all except for percussion Loops. So thousands of Loops don't really interest me as I wouldn't use them. I like to program everything myself except I ...

Re: Please include Tempo Envelopes!

I didn't know you could change the tempo with Markers Greg. I don't own Mixcraft yet so I am only familiar with the videos I have seen on YouTube on your official YouTube channel. Thanks for informing me. It's important personally for me that I can slow a song down at the end. I like to do that to e...

Re: Please include Tempo Envelopes!

Tempo envelopes are very important. It's an essential feature especially at the end of a song where you want to slow the song down to finish. I am surprised this isn't considered an essential feature. I do use this a lot. Mixcraft definitely needs this. I totally agree with the OP

Re: The road to Mixcraft 8

Good post. I am also a Sonar user. It's a good DAW but it's not user friendly. The mixer or console view was great. Excellent in fact. However I hated the Piano Roll in it and the Step Sequencer. I found Sonar clunky. Too many options buried in layers of menus. I never worked out how to work the Rex...

Re: When is Mixcraft 8 coming out?

Thanks Mark and Dan for your replies, Next week would be great even just to get an announcement of all the new features. I read that Melodyne Essential would be included in Mixcraft Pro 8. I hope that's right. Good feature. I wonder if there will be new virtual instruments. I am subscribed to the Mi...

When is Mixcraft 8 coming out?

Hi new member here. I am a Reason and Sonar user. I love Reason but I have never really gelled with Sonar. It's a very good programme but I find it clunky to use. I don't like it's Piano Roll and it's Step Sequencer. Reason is great but no support for Vst plug ins so I can't use Addictive Drums, Ozo...
