Re: Acoustica studio drums to Jamstix 4

I ran into something similar with a Cabinet simulator. Even though upon reopening the saved project, the preset in the cab simulator would read as if it was selected but on playback it obviously wasn't. I had to manually reselect the preset each time. It turned out to be that the VST used relative d...

Re: Dumb Question - from someone who should know better

Could there be metadata in the MP3 file that states a certain BPM and Mixcraft reads that first?

Re: Recording In Mixcraft

Hello,

It may be more helpful to post on the Mixcraft board instead of hardware wars - you'll porbably get more responses.

Re: Loading clips from a sampler or VSTi preset.

I'm not really familiar with that - but flipping tthrough the manual I didn't see anything where you could drag a clip out of that into a DAW. there was lots of modifying and dragging things within the program itself to build and change things. Maybe someone else has more insight into it.

Re: Loading clips from a sampler or VSTi preset.

Hi,

Not all VSTis allow dragging MIDI data. It's not a universal function. Specifically, what sequencer or arpeggiator are you trying to drag a clip from?

Re: Vari speed

I have no idea about "similar to Protools" but yes. You can change speed. Time adjustments with and without pitch shift. Also MIDI tempo changes. You can do automated time changes on the Master bus too.

Re: MixCraft 9 Pro & latest iZotopes

You bring up an interesting point. I have both VST and VST3 from the bundle I bought. I almost always use VST. I've found that if I have some tracks or effects with VST3 and others with VST at the same time, I eventually run into problems. not just ozone, but any effects or instruments. Since so man...

I've had no software issues using them. They work great with mixcraft in my experience

Re: MixCraft 9 Pro & latest iZotopes

Yes I use Neutron 3 advanced, relay, Visual mixer, nectar 3 plus, ozone 9 advanced, tonal balance control 2. I probably use ozone 9 and nectar 3 the most. However, they are resource demanding. If you can use send tracks and have only one or two instances, you'll probably be good unless you have a re...

Re: E-Drums into MC - Hi Hat doenst stay closed

Contact Alesis and see if there is a way to control the MIDI output of the pedal. In this particular case, the hardware needs to not send the open hi-hat while the pedal is down. Your screen shot indicates a G#2 and an A#2 as I suspected. It could be a velocity setting. If the pedal goes down with a...

Re: E-Drums into MC - Hi Hat doenst stay closed

in general there are three standard drum MIDI mappings for Hi-Hat: Starting from MIDI Key base one as opposed to base zero F#2 = Closed Hi Hat Stick hit G#2 = Pedal Hi Hat (closed hi hat sound after stepping on pedal - doesn't open on release) A#2 = Open Hi Hat. Should be programmed to Stay open unt...

Re: Volume Issue

cool. but this is super weird. I started mixcraft fresh, set a few notes for Garritan, let it play, stop, then played it again. The expression DIDN'T change in Garritan. It stayed nice and loud - just as was hoped. I moved the mod wheel on my keyboard up, then back down, set the expression controlle...

Re: Volume Issue

Well, If there is any modulation control within any clip, it will reset to zero once playback is stopped. You can either make sure there is a modulation setting at the beginning, or remove all modulation from all clips. Neither are very practical if you have a lot of individual clips or you are usin...

Re: Volume Issue

Hello, Specifically with Garritan, using the aria player or Sforzando VST, the Mod wheel controls the expression on most of the instruments. You can set it on the VST but once it's in a MIDI clip, it will take on the Mod wheel setting in the clip. In Mixcraft, after playback stops, the MOD wheel is ...

Re: Missing MIDI guitar notes

Hello, The following is based on things that have happened to me using virtual instruments. The way a lot of the virtual instruments that have keyswitches work is: When you drag the midi clip from the instrument to the DAW, the keyswitches are dragged too as part of the MIDI playback. However, the k...
