Adding FLAC recordings?
Long time Acoustica CD Burner user but as with that program the Spin It Now app doesn't appear to be actively updated anymore and is missing a crucial piece (CD burner had the awesome feature of click-adding song all over the drive library, but was missing the never-added overburn capability). So ma...

That would be me.
This still won't work with Vista....and apparently until Goldenhawk updates their engine it won't. I'm not holding my breath judging by how antiquated their site/product is. I don't quite understand how it takes so long for their (GH) support for an OS out as long as Vista has been but I've bitched ...

No...it's not...
Checking the 'remove silence' box just ensures you will get gap free. If you rip (get) good mp3s that have no trailing space, if should be gap free. Remember you can also mix the tracks (overlap) them if you want and that works perfectly. I blend songs in and out all the time without a hitch. One qu...

The LACK of a 2 sec gap....
...is probably the greatest asset of this software (when it's happy with your burner anyway). It's the only one I know of that can take a live concert disc ripped to mp3 and play it virtually seamlessly without doing other editing (when end-of-track silent option is added). Most other packages have ...

Log file
Ok...that was exactly where it was hiding. I now have a recent build Vista log file...a (failed) attempt at running my SATA drive in regular audio and mp3 mode. It may work in IMAPI mode but that's not really an option--I'll just use XP over that kludge. But...attachments aren't allowed here--how do...

Beta version...
Yes...it actually took that latest beta version in XP to get the program to run properly for some reason, so I don't know if it was needed to get SATA going. I mentioned 'if' because in Vista, I can't seem to get it to record a log file anymore. It frankly doesn't seem to want to do anything correct...

SATA support...
The SATA drive can be seen in non-MAPI with the latest beta, but still doesn't work well at all in Vista. Sure does in XP though when I finally got tired of Vista and dual-booted.

Stef66...you will be pleased to see that I dumped Vista...
I finally got tired enough with all Vista's quirks (and it has plenty)...to setup a dual-boot of XP and Vista. Of course, once Vista is installed it is rather difficult to get XP installed with a boot-choice as well, but I managed to do it. Vista will not work with this program and my drivess, will ...

SATA DVD Burners not supported?
I'm not sure if its the SATA interface or the Samsung 18x drive itself, but it is not supported in CDB. Once again, the only option is "I-CRAPPY" burning, which just about lives up to its nickname. If I use my Plextor 12x as a USB drive, I can successfully make an audio burn (but not mp3)....

Most importantly...
Take it from someone going through the Vista mess...make sure you have a RECENT burner! I have a Plextor-716 and it hit-and-miss being found (in here and Nero) with the original Vista build and completely disappeared showing as installed with the new "SP1" update. I'm probably going to pic...

Ahh....
Aha...so it's those CDRWin folks holding up the show :) On their site they do say their latest is Vista-compliant...but how much. I did notice the "gold" build of CDB showed up days after my "rant"---coincidence? I also noticed the 4.35 (gold) is one build later than the 4.35 (Be...

More on Vista...
Actually it would be . 0 2 :) Anyway, when lightning fried my computer and I had to start fresh I figured I'd give it a try. Some things are very cool...the gadgets for one...and I especially like the completely rewritten audio side that now allows for individual level adjustments per program (first...

Bit Rates...
Use variable bit rates for still great sound and smaller files--this adjusts automatically depending on the sound passage at the time. 256k Lame VBR will sound great. Also use a rate appropriate to the type of music--rock music is fine at 160k or 192k, but classical/jazz may need 320k for the intric...

Vista...
It actually works fine except for two things that really irk me--the ASPI mess is one (can't after 10 YEARS of CD burning the stupid OS just work natively like a Mac does???)....and they changed the file open boxes so one of my favorite timesaver programs (ACDSEE's Imagefox) will no longer work. It ...

The FAQ explains some...
I'm guilty of not reading it before and it does mention FrogASPI, however, the file should go in another place...: Quit MP3 CD Burner if it is running. Download Frog ASPI. Choose the one that has been renamed as wnaspi32.dll and place it in your \Program Files\Acoustica MP3 CD Burner folder. Open up...
