Re: What levels are YOU mixing down to for mastering???

I hear you on that one. Easy thing to do. A few of my online friends mix VERY basic and their mixes sound amazing. I usually throw a few plugins I think I need on the track, then turn things off to see how much of a difference it really made. More times than not I'm pulling that plugin out. On maste...

Re: What levels are YOU mixing down to for mastering???

My term "limit" was probably misleading. I mean't limit as in limit the volume if the track if it is too loud.
They don't all use the same algorithms.

Re: What levels are YOU mixing down to for mastering???

Old thread I know . I had to laugh..my system is now scanning 1200 plugins lol.....Gotta comment on that Metallica track. They got it wrong. I would not follow others who get it wrong because you will also get it wrong right? All of the upload sites are going to limit your material if it's out of ha...

Re: USB Interface Recommendations

If you play guitar this isn't as important. If you are playing software instruments with a keyboard, might want to check the latency limits of a particular interface. The time between when you push the key and a sound is made. This is more complicated than only the interface, however the interface p...

Re: Tracking down a mysterious beep using microphones

Late to this one. I wanted to comment on another source of almost insanity for me and the solution to it. I kept getting this annoying ground loop noise. It sounded like a really bad mic cable was plugged into my interface. After buying an EMI/RF protection strip, checking all of my cables the noise...

Re: The End of Soundcloud?

Soundcloud was once a very welcoming place. I made a few friends on there. I have a bunch of tracks up. After a revisit I realized I need to tweak a bunch of it since I'm not particularly happy with my offerings. I pay for the middle tier account and I have pretty much maxed out my tracks limit. I d...

Re: Microphone Survey

I was looking for mics to record my violin. I bought a couple of sE Electronics sE7 mics. Not a matched pair. They were GC returns. When I went in to GC, there was a pair of Rodes that were basically the same thing but more expensive. Small diaphram condenser pencil mics. So far I haven't looked bac...

Mixcraft Loops Off Tune to 440 A standard pitch

I'm using a midi keyboard with built in sound and playing the sounds to MX8 loops. I have never had my keyboard go out of tune. When I attempt to play along with any loop I'm very sharp relative to the loops in Mixcraft. This isn't an issue where I'm in another key because I tried various keys. I at...

@Ian Craig
I listened to the video. You managed to remove a lot of the resonance stuff in it. Thank you very much!

Re: Kudos to Mixcraft !

Thanks for that video Ian! I will give it a serious listen tomorrow. Greg, I would say Mixcraft is heavily weighted towards video as compared to similar programs. Ableton only loads .mov files and doesn't seem to have any editing capability or very little. Cakewalk loads files for audio work but is ...

Kudos to Mixcraft !

I am relatively new to recording video live. It's really been almost like a maze to me so far working around all of the different formats trying to determine what works best for online videos. I wanted to share a few of my experiences which I think really shed a mighty positive light on Mixcraft 8 a...
