Re: Not all audio Daws sound the same ...
Afternoon, I’m probably going to switch too... to MX9 when it comes out! :P -N This might be a silly question but does anyone have any idea when MC9 is likely to be released? I'm sure Acoistica are being very careful not to reveal anything (and for good reason - they still want people to buy MC8, l...

Re: Not all audio Daws sound the same ...
@dpaterson Yes, it's basically Sonar Platinum without some plugins and samples: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AwrivrPMMqFyAnbRfV03U2ki00VwOJNHeFXolbyyzKA/edit#gid=0 But since you have Mixcraft, you can use some of the plugins (like Melodyne) and loops that come with Mixcraft in Cakewalk. ...

Re: Not all audio Daws sound the same ...
Tony, The transport controls ought be visible at all times, I requested over and over that they be put at the top or bottom of the screen because as they are it only needs 1 window (vst or fx) and the controls are blotted out. with a few windows open they all have to be dragged to one side or close...

I don't understand what you mean by this. Can you explain further, please?mick wrote:The transport controls (this is my favorite moan) open just 1 window whether vst or fx and the controls get obliterated, start moving windows, if you have a few open just move them all.

I can concur: I have 64-bit plugins and I installed MC8 64-bit, and they all work no problem.

Re: Not all audio Daws sound the same ...
I think people should be allowed their views. If someone is not happy with something then they would be a fool to cotinue with it. On the other hand, if someone is very much contented with what they are using then they would be a fool to move on, but there would be no harm in trying out other stuff....

Re: Compatible Surface Controllers for MixCraft 8
To be honest, I went for the CTRL49 because it comes shipped with VIP. Otherwise, I probably would have bought the Akai.jlouvar wrote:Thank you Tony, I ordered the Akai MPK249 this morning online from Sweetwater.

Re: Compatible Surface Controllers for MixCraft 8
I'm thinking about getting a Akai MPK249 Professional keyboard controller... Does anyone have one, your thoughts? I have a M-Audio CTRL49... it'll be very similar to Akai under the hood since they're related. After setting up the CTRL49 in the settings (which is very easy to do - lots of very helpf...

Re: Compatible Surface Controllers for MixCraft 8
Tony, I am running the Behringer X-Touch control surfaces. I have 2 of the X-Touch main units, and 3 of the X-Touch Extenders for physical control over 40 tracks without having to bank shift. In my opinion, they are far nicer than the Mackie MCU / MCU Pro units and are WAY cheaper. And yes, I owned...

Re: Compatible Surface Controllers for MixCraft 8
I'm using a Faderport 8... works decently with MC8.... That's cool, thanks MiltonRob . It looks as if there shouldn't be too many issues using any of those mentioned above. As I said, I have a midi keyboard controller which works well with MC8 straight out the box. Now, I just have to make my mind ...

Thanks GovernmentMule. Well as long as the bread and butter tasks are handled then anything else is a happy bonus.
