Re: Comments

The best way to handle it is say nothing at all if ain't the truth. Flattering lips won't help anyone improve or grow. What people need to realize music is subjective. Meaning one can't expect everyone to love or even like what they wrote. Yeah, my feelings can get hurt. But? Too bad for me. I suck ...

Re: Mixcraft in action-Total Recall (Critique wanted)

I knew nothing of EQ in 1996, just started on computer making soundfonts using a Creative Labs AWE32 soundcard, layering masses of mostly ROM samples to get good sounds, then there was just the Chorus and Reverb FX system of the card. Your song is a decent song though. I'm sure I got quite a bit of...

Re: Mixcraft in action-Total Recall (Critique wanted)

Hi, (Please note - I hate EDM), Apart from the 10 second section when it sounded like it was going to be the usual oul EDM after the first 5 seconds, before it filtered that back out of it after about 15 seconds I thought it was an interesting hybrid mix of many different reference points (Midi mus...

Re: MIDI Controller Keyboard Survey

I always had a crush on Roland products. I picked up my first keyboard last October by Native Instruments, the S series 61. I hate to say I just didn't like it and went with my first intuition and picked up the JUNO DS61. This keyboard, for the price is actually very sophisticated. You can download ...

Mixcraft in action-Total Recall (Critique wanted)

This song is one that was done months ago and totally revamped about a month ago. It used to be named "Crush", But since I could no longer find the instrument that inspired the name, I named it total recall. Anyways, looking for critique on mixing and mastering quality. Been watching a lot...

Re: Mixcraft not saving and freezing Please help

HI, Yes, Eric replied to you and suggested to raise your latency setting. Did you get that email? When you talk about latency, are you talking about the audio breaking up, or are you talking about the lag before you hear the audio? Because having your latency set too low will cause your audio to br...

Re: Looking for a good gluing compressor

Any ideas on general settings for glueing? Like a general starting point to start tweaking from? I got Mixcraft Pro 8.1. I recommend Google Glue. So far I've had little luck with that. Your comment isn't very helpful. All the stuff I have found thus far is vague. I figured if I asked directly I may...

Re: Mixcraft not saving and freezing Please help

Hi, A latency of 20.3 means there is a 20.3 millisecond delay in the time it takes for you to hear the audio. That's 20.3 thousandths of one second. Greg Yeah, I understand that. In the past when I had settings of this type of latency it was very noticeable. Unless Mixcraft reported the latency wro...

Re: Looking for a good gluing compressor

Thanks. :) So far I've learned that much about mixing, getting all the instruments at appropriate levels to one another without any effects and making sure the master is at -6db for headroom.

Then start the compression on the master and an EQ as well for very light EQ enhancements.

Re: Replace all clips option?

I guess you could just create another audio track and add different kick drums and use your original as a template. Then when you get what you're looking for, just mute or delete the original.

Re: Mixcraft not saving and freezing Please help

Hmm, so you’re able to save okay and not having any more freezing problems now? Hope I'm not speaking too soon , but maybe the updated driver helped. I updated the Realtek driver then tried ASIO4ALL driver. Decided to stick with Core Audio wave rt. Funny thing is, mixcraft shows at the bottom I hav...

I'm still trying things out at this stage. I am trying an updated driver. Also, I believe I had a 32 bit plugin in the 64 bit vst folder, don't know if that did anything bad or not.

Re: Mixcraft not saving and freezing Please help

The project appears to be using a pretty sizeable memory footprint. Though its not a large percentage of your avail mem, I would still suspect there's too much going on in the background. Make sure all other programs, including web browsers etc. are closed and re-evaluate the project. See also the ...

Looking for a good gluing compressor

Right now, being a newbie I am playing more with presets. That being said, I had Density MK# compressor and was finally getting familiar with it's "Gluing" preset and tweaking it. But I highly suspect it's the very plugin wreaking havoc on mixcraft to the point it is unusable. Any suggesti...
