I downloaded a VST today but the file is DLL and a warning popped up on my computer not to open DLL files and that it can make changes to the OS. Is that true? Any advice on this one?

This has happened for me too. Maybe my computer isn't powerful enough. Anyway, when it happens, I just manually fix the tracks to be in the right place. It's important to use the snap guides so that it's easy to put the track back in the right place.

Are you sure you successfully copied it? If there's nothing to paste, that might happen. Would it suit you to just push "duplicate track" on the whole track?
