If your PC has mic and line inputs and a line/headphone output, that means you have built-in sound on your PC, so you've got all you need to get you started. It won't be brilliant, but it should be good enough for basic demos and stuff. If you're using a preamp, you need to plug the preamp output in...

No word from Da Manijment on these. Anyway, I've tried the Blue Cat plugins, but they don't seem to work. Although MIDI is coming in (I've checked with MIDI-OX) the Blue Cat gain VST plugin isn't seeing it. I've tried the DirectX plugin instead, but Mixcraft doesn't seem to be able to see that - may...

Further to (3), an bit of lateral thinking and some hunting around VST sites has come up with Blue Cat Audio's "Gain Suite" (link http://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_GainSuite/ ) which claims to give MIDI control over gain via a VST plugin. Has anyone tried this themselves? Anyway...

Feature reqs: "join", project split, MIDI control

I've just done some live recording off my Behringer DDX3216 mixer to an RME Hammerfall via a couple of ADAT lightpipes. 16-channel recording at 44kHz, 45 mins at a time, no problems. My PC's only a Sempron 2800 with 512MB RAM. So it's not a Helix Board, but multi-track recording certainly *does* go ...

Same reason, dude. Start of sample, start of play, same effect. And it actually is physical - in electronics, we call it "zero-crossing". To clarify what Luis said earlier, better start with how a loudspeaker works. Our sound sample wiggles around the zero level, sometimes above and someti...

Gotta be kidding!?! Only $50 for software download to use across 3 machines, and you want a crack for it? Dude, if you stopped smoking crack, you'd have the money that you didn't need crackware... ;-) And seriously, how insane can you get, going to the author's website and saying "please can I ...
