Re: InterDAWlactic Time Alignment Conundrum
Yeah I won't be using MP3s for this purpose again. I ended up making a tiny little audio clip from that soundless bit at the start of the MP3 and importing that into Cubase to use it as a guide for how far to nudge the new recordings forward. Works ok, but it's hardly an entirely accurate method so ...

Re: InterDAWlactic Time Alignment Conundrum
Hi Greg. Thanks for the tip - it worked: Skærmbillede WAV vs MP3.png > Note that this is from Mixcraft 9 (which I also have installed on the Cubase desktop) but I have tested if it also works on the old MX8 laptop, and it does. So stupid of me that I didn't just mix the audio down to WAV in the firs...

InterDAWlactic Time Alignment Conundrum
Hi, I'm working on a project where I'm trying to use my desktop-based Cubase system in conjunction with a laptop-based Mixcraft-system. More specifically, I have recorded parts of a track in Cubase, and now I want to use those tracks as a foundation for doing further recordings "out of the hous...

Re: Multiple VSTi's?
Thanks for the replies guys The keyboard will play whatever track is currently highlighted - piano or drums. > This makes sense. And Patrick's suggestion of using a sort of placeholder midi file keeps EZD playing. "As for double click on ezdrummer track to add an empty temporary clip", I c...

Re: Select recording bit depth in Mixcraft?
Hey cactus-head, thanks for the input. As for the potential benefits of 32 bit files, I'm not sure I'm reaping those, because as stated in my first post my audio interface is apparently only capable of making 24 bit recordings, so I would think the extra bit depth is just a bunch of digital nonsense...

Multiple VSTi's?
When working with more than one VST instrument, is it necessary to somehow specify how Mixcraft should handle them? My situation is this: I have programmed some drums in Ezdrummer and now I want to add piano using Pianissimo. But Mixcraft keeps forgetting to play the drums: After every take I need t...

Re: Select recording bit depth in Mixcraft?
Hi Greg, Yeah, it's mainly the file sizes that bother me. Initially I thought the larger bit depth might also affect my pc's processing speeds, but as far I can tell, bit depth doesn't really affect CPU performance. When it comes to file size the difference between 32 bit and 24 is significant thoug...

Re: Select recording bit depth in Mixcraft?
Hello again, I just did a quick test of the WaveRT driver, and while it does deliver 24 bit recordings, it causes increased latency when using virtual instruments. Lowering the latency turns the piano sounds in EzKeys into mush. For the same reason I thought I would try and remove all audio drivers ...

Re: Select recording bit depth in Mixcraft?
All right, thanks for getting back to me. I'll look into the WaveRT option. I was under the impression that ASIO is preferable but if there are no drawbacks in terms of sound quality, I suppose I might as well try WaveRT. But are you confident it's a Mixcraft bug and not something I can fix by adjus...

Re: Select recording bit depth in Mixcraft?
Hi Greg, I first checked it in MusicBee but Mixcraft tells me the same. Here are two images of the same file before and after conversion to 24 bit in MusicBee: 32 bit version: Skærmbillede (2).png 24 bit version: Skærmbillede (2).png I have tried updating my drivers which didn't make any difference,...

Select recording bit depth in Mixcraft?
Hello, Am I missing something or is there no way to select the bit depth of recordings in Mixcraft? My audio interface is a Steinberg UR242, which apparently only allows for 24 bit recordings, but nevertheless all the recordings I make in MC turn out to be 32 bit. The Steinberg driver software only ...

Re: Waves glitch
Hi Greg, Thanks for the suggestion. However, the installation process is managed by Waves' "Waves Central" software, and I don't think that lets you choose between VST2 and VST3. I contacted their support people about the problem and their only comment was that Mixcraft is "not a supp...

Waves glitch
Hi, I'm having trouble getting a Waves plugin to work in Mixcraft (9 Pro Studio). More specifically, I'm trying to install their Renaissance Maxx bundle and everything seems to be working fine, except for one darn plugin, the R Compressor, which only works in the mono version. With the stereo versio...
